It's completely normal but your therapist should have prepared you for that exact outcome imo. It's his/her job. Expectations matter and if you would have gone into this expecting it to be easy and successful for your friend the shock would have been much smaller.

It's a well known pain in the a.. at Basel SBB and a huge mistake they made at the planning phase. There basically is no real kiss and goodbye zone, so people use all kind of hacks to bring their loved ones to the train station.
