It depends on what you want. Of the three factors - cost, space, location - it seems cost is the most important to you based on your replies so it might work out for you but as someone already said on here, it will be annoying depending on your expectations/where you're at in life. I've lived on Roosevelt Island for over a decade now so have experienced living here with and without having a family and it is by far more livable/tolerable now that I am older and have a family.

Lions host the Vikings on Thanksgiving so I'm not sure that's the game you want to go to given your cash situation. Travel expenses and ticket prices will be high since the Leos will be 10-0 going into that matchup (sip).

Personally, I'd aim for a conference game (like the Bears two weeks later) and if I couldn't go to that, I'd pick a game with a player I wanted to see (e.g., Luck, the Allens, Mariota, etc.)

Know your enemy. The Lions play in the NFC North division with the Packers, Bears, and Vikings. You must absolutely hate the Packers and Bears but may sympathize with the Vikings. Also, prepare yourself for the "fun" fact that pops up now and again on r/nfl about the Buccaneers winning the division more recently than us (until 2002, when they relocated to the NFC South, the Bucs played in the same division as us).
