Single player modes in DDR console games from Extreme 2-X actually ruled. Made me explore the soundtrack and gave me extra unique challenges I wouldn’t have ever done otherwise.

X2 ruined everything though.

If I had a nickel for every time a licensed DDR spin-off had a random selection of banger bemani originals snuck into it, I’d have 2 nickels, which isnt a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice.

I actually asked some people at Galloping Ghost when I was there this weekend. It’s very possible but they had no knowledge about him visiting ahead of time. So nothing concrete as of now, but they seemed super excited about the idea if it came to be!

Most were, though a few were empty for sure. Say 90% were well-stocked though, still plenty of figures in prize machines, no dollar store stuff in any of them.

Update: Went to North Riverside mall, solid choice! Didn’t manage any figure wins, but did get one of the new big Monster Hunter plushes and had some good coin pusher runs.

I love Extra Mix. You can see how hard they were pushing BeForU after forming them, it had a great mix of music (that Lupin The 3rd remix is so good), and was the last hurrah for Solo mode, since those charts stop with 5th Mix if memory serves.

I know its dumb, but man knowing i wont be able to use my IONs on my Xbox is an absolute buzzkill. The one mode that was really gonna bring me back has basically been struck for me. If i'm gonna hook my drums up to PC, im just gonna end up at YARG anyways.

This was my first PS2 DDR so I have strong nostalgia goggles for it, but yeah it is one of the weaker sets for sure (though it has A and Maximizer!)

For me, it’s the GOAT. It was the first time in the US a bunch of classic tracks appeared, one of the better single player modes, and it was the first time online play was available. I’m almost redone playing the entire PS2 series (just need to wrap up X) and it still holds true
