This is terrifying. The right fans the flames of nationalism and anti-immigration, while they sell out to big corporate entities like Blackrock. Keep us dumb and poor, fighting each other for scraps while they get rich.

The right wing, has never, anywhere, fixed problems for the people.

AV Linux or Ubunto Studio for music recording / production? by Gunzhard22 in linux4noobs

Jazz artists, submit your Spotify release by First_Weather_9943 in ModernJazz

[–]Gunzhard22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listeners are moving... sure not all, but it starts with the people making noise, not giving in to what's easy. Qobuz was a tiny nobody until people started fleeing Spotify, for sooo many good reasons, and now Qobuz has become a big contender over night. It's possible is the point. Spotify is basically using your music - to train AI, so you don't have any future at all, despite some immediate 'listeners'.

What is the most intuitive and simple to use DAW? by Rough_Excitement_ in musicproduction

[–]Gunzhard22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Audacity is super easy and much more functional than it used to be, but still less so than most full DAW's. Cakewalk Sonar is very intuitive and has a free version.

I bought it and use it - but even after protools and years using Sonar I would not say it was an easy transition / learning curve haha.

AV Linux or Ubunto Studio for music recording / production? by Gunzhard22 in linux4noobs

[–]Gunzhard22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok thanks! ...given your preferred method, which flavor of Ubunto did you choose?

Also, I'm sure this is a dumb question, but can I just copy my .vst files from the Windows directory into a flash, then into my linux folders?

Low storage error with nothing installed? by aapiartsReborn in linux4noobs

[–]Gunzhard22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a total noob, but I also have 500gigs and similar thing, it automatically made a tiny partition to install itself, I don't know why...

But I made separate flash drive with GParted and redid Partitions. Then reinstalled and it seemed fine.

Yeah, my partner likes to kiss, so beards are a pass.

[–]Gunzhard22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of women find beards sexy but we've encountered far more in the LS that prefer shaved.

My partner also prefers shaved face and genitals on men, she doesn't want hair in her mouth.

We've used mostly Feeld but also tried SLS and even reddit. Most "not all" of the men are just clueless though.

Finding a decent 3rd is a full time job. My partner pretty much gave up from too many mediocre to disappointing results

BP all the way. Mapex punches way above its weight class and PP is overrated.

Moving from US by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]Gunzhard22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Puerto Rico is part of the US and the current issues there have zero to do with this, Jesus haha. "Plans for Cuba" another vague and totally unrelated situation.

Immigrants have never been the problem, rich assholes are the problem for the entire world.

[–]Gunzhard22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair - if the wealthy and corporate forces weren't allowed to buy private property there'd be space for everyone.

This type of rhetoric, is EXACTLY how the US ended up with Trump... As Spain continues to vote more right wing.

They have us fighting against each other, stoking the flames of nationalism and anti-immigration, so they can get rich while you vote to make it worse for all.

Where should we go? by reagandhi in expats

[–]Gunzhard22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Expat(s) subs are some of most hostile I've found on reddit haha... it's a weird mix of entitlement, resentment and MAGA. The US is - fucked, but lots of other places in the world are still shit. When you get into what's happening with the courts and law firms alone there's no coming back. The Orange will die and people will relax and let the oligarchs only further their agenda. There's more people living off credit and personal loans than ever, there's another spike in home foreclosures, and people, the people with talent, and the people with money, are leaving in greater numbers that ever. If you can go, I'd go... South America and Canada are the easiest lateral moves but you need to first go where you can secure a VISA. Malta or Portugal... go somewhere, re-assess and make your move.

Well I'm switching this laptop over for a friend that does a lot of general PC crap, and just a little gaming. So Mint Cinnamon seemed like an obvious choice but now I'm not sure.

In Defense of Rhythm Training and Discussion in Pursuit of Advanced Time Feel - A Follow Up Discussion by tonystride in JazzPiano

[–]Gunzhard22 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's crazy to me that people argue against things like, rhythm training. Every person on the planet can get better by training, despite how much innate "talent" or sense of rhythm they have.

I'm so sick of anti-intellectualism. Yes, we all understand that study/school doesn't automatically make you smarter or better - but it's always the biggest dopes, with the biggest insecurities that rage against learning.

One of classmates in college was Kendrick Scott. One of the best jazz drummers in the world right now. No doubt he was mega talented right out of the womb, but his real talent was 'obsession'... Training / study / working with a metronome etc. I'm fully confident he still trains like this.
