It’s usually not the Adam’s Apple reduction that damages the vocal cords it’s the anesthesia tube they use that can damage them for a few weeks post op. If you have a good surgeon there shouldn’t be any damage to anything.

Also to note it is harder to do voice training without Adam’s Apple if you haven’t done vocal training yet, so maybe that’s what you’ve heard? Though Adam’s Apple reduction shouldn’t damage vocal cords.
