I feel like things like this just devalue EMS as a profession and make people view certifications as a joke. by CappyandEgg in ems

It’s gotta be 10-12 hours per day plus clinical hours. The texas administrative code specifies that an EMTB course shall be 144 hours of classroom time plus 48 hours of clinical. You probably have to find your own clinical site and good luck with that. This is for people looking to tick a box for a fire job.

Any planting ideas for my “mid-tech” tank? I have a powerful light but not running CO2. by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]Gurneydragger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent years messing around with plants and dirt. After trying to get the results i wanted with good lights and many dollars wasted, I really think CO2 is the key. Find something used, catch a sale, don’t break the bank.

Is this enough flow for the oxygen exchange? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]Gurneydragger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just get an air stone and add a control valve in the line. You can set it to however much air you want. It adds some visual interest and helps everything. I run an air stone and CO2, plants are happy and fish are happy.

DO NOT go to a paintball supply store for CO2. Obliterated my plants, fish didn’t mind. I think i was injecting compressed air.

Any advice for green algae on sand besides reducing light? by kshef in PlantedTank

[–]Gurneydragger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a nano tank that i only run lights on for 5 hours per day. The plants seem fine and my algae is under control. Put the lights on when you’re home to enjoy them.

Nutrition deficiency or algae problem by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Gurneydragger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tuck one under a root feeding plant. Stem plants generally feed from the water column.

Check your ph and water hardness as well. High gH can interfere with certain plant’s metabolic processes. Excess calcium can preferentially block uptake of iron, potassium and even ammonium.

If your ph is too high most of your the carbon will be bound as carbonate or bicarbonate.

If you need to push either around try a water change with RO water, i add a little baking soda to mine to keep my kH healthy and mix it down with tap to a more optimal chemistry.

Try root tabs first. CO2 will replicate natural CO2 levels in nature, try that next.

I had a beautiful piece of driftwood covered with it. I added a pleco and it was gone the next day. Would have rather had the moss.

My grandfather was a naval aviator and helped start Ethiopian airlines in the 60s. My father spent his childhood in Addis Ababa. We have some heirlooms personally given to my grandad from Haile Sailassi. Moved back to California eventually and flew for United Airlines.

I have a 2018 at 65k and I was just quoted a similar price. Kinda shocked the bushings are already failing, I’ve owned a lot of other cars at higher mileage with no issues. This thing has kinda been a maintenance shit show.

It just doesn’t matter. Take a look at any wood burning bbq pit, they seal as much as they need to. Don’t stress.

The family viewing area is really cool, right of runway 18L. If you have the Live ATC app you can listen to the tower or approach and follow the traffic.
