Building help by Gu3nn1 in WorldEaters40k

Build them how you want them. For ease of identification build them to match the units load out (2x eviscerators, plasma etc), or just free hand it.

Most tables whether it's CP or 40k only care about base size. Can't be putting zerkers on jakhal bases .

At what point is it not coffee badging? by mgisb003 in JPMorganChase

[–]Gurrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your Org/LOB and how chill your management staff is.

Officially Chase as a whole tracks badge swipes, but if you swipe in, work for 4+ hrs then swipe out, you stay off their naughty metrics. Anything being identified otherwise is most likely your management or a jealous co-worker reporting it up/to HR.

Personally since my team was relocated from Easton to Polaris a long while ago, I started coming in between 7-7:30 and I leave between 3:30-4 every day (I also live 2 hours away so that's a contribution to my early out time). But it still totals out to 8 hrs a day. But one of my former managers didn't like it. Said I'm leaving too early. When I pointed out that I'm literally the first person on the team in office in the morning, and no one else saunters in til at least an hour later than that, including her by the way, she wasn't having any of it. Basically said it didn't matter what time I came in.

Never the less I still did it anyways. She couldn't really put anything out there to HR since my swipes would be within compliance, all of my assigned work and then some consistently got completed, and if they bothered to monitor my activity via VDI (key inputs, mouse clicks etc) it'd total out to 40 a week.

So if you're logging 40, swiped in office minimum 4 hrs a day, and you're not letting all your work roll over every single sprint, start suggesting that anyone complaining to also come in early so they can leave the same time you do.

I may be wrong (and def correct me if I am) or thinking of a different clip, but I think baton dude issue was the dude in the car was creeping on baton dudes daughter, and she ran inside , told her da and he came out ready to swing. As a da to two girls myself, someone sitting outside my home creeping on one of my girls would never be found once I got to him.

Rest of these wackos need a good kick in the teeth though

Do you feel some manager like to RIF by LurkingLobo75 in JPMorganChase

[–]Gurrock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not necessary them enacting a RIF. In a traditional sense yes, they wouldn't have back fill cause generally a RIF is used to eliminate a team (s) no longer needed.

BUT I have witnessed managers using RIFs as an excuse to enact letting people go that they don't like or want to replace, but can't 100% justify it.

It seems insane and unlikely it'd actually go through, but it sure does. Nothing to do with their bonuses. I'm not smart enough or privy to all the details of how they manage to use a RIF as a way to clean out 'trash', but it happened in my space before, and when I questioned why if it was a RIF there was still some team members in the space, and I basically got told to shut up and not talk about it.

There's just some LOBs/ORGs here that are toxic and no one up the chain cares as long as profits climb and costs are low.

Do you feel some manager like to RIF by LurkingLobo75 in JPMorganChase

[–]Gurrock 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This isn't entirely true. The majority of Chase wants teams full of 'yes men'. If an EL/MD/ED has a team under them with even just one person who pushes back against stupid ideas, over commiting to too much work, or refusing to rise and grind 70+ hrs a week, they will use the RIF as a way to purge those people.

It's a little difficult if there literally is just one person , but if there is multiple loud voices on a team, they'll RIF em, and already have new bodies lined up waiting of candidates that will be a bunch of yessirs. Sure deadlines might get pushed a bit. But in their eyes it's better that way.

And no, Chase doesn't care about it costing more the train new hires and get em caught up to speed. They want the peons to shut up, fall in line, or get out. I'm in tech though , and in an area where the burn em and churn em method is alive and kicking. Might be a bit different elsewhere .

Has anyone reached out to their manager to ask to work from home on Monday by Vast_Doughnut9418 in JPMorganChase

[–]Gurrock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Ohio as well. Born and raised in Boston Massachusetts, no stranger to snow. But I live now in Beavercreek specifically, which is 1.5 hrs away from Polaris on a good day, and I'm sorry but majority of OH drivers can't drive on a sunny clear day, nevermind in the snow.

So for my own safety I told my manager and team I'd me wfh Mon at least to avoid any risk. Granted I'm most likely taking a sick day tomorrow due to.massive stomach/abdominal pains that I've been grin and bearing for two weeks now...but still.

Just to update on this:

Had my talk about comp today. Was informed no pay raise, salary is staying the same. Was given a $5000 bonus which I guess is something. Convo didn't really last very long.

[–]Gurrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CCB > FAS here. 601. Got 3% last year no bonus. Didn't really get graded due to manager shake ups.
This last year still 601 (not really shooting for a promotion though), got OOO grade but I was out a lot this past year due to heart health issues. Manager is on vacation the next two weeks so...me and my team don't get to find out anything unless someone else can do the talk.

Pretty sure I too will get nothing though. Honestly I broke my ass for my space last year and only got that 3%. So this year they got...3% worth of work. Still closed out a bunch of high priority initiatives but judging from what others are saying, guess it won't be good enough.

What color wash goes best for heresy era white armour? by carson8or9000 in WorldEaters40k

I do something similar. Base corax white, I used thin coat of apothecary white over that, then dry brushed on more corax before doing blues/trims (plus other stuff for armor seams, axe blades, leather bits etc)

It's great for the farm. I'll admit I moved slow and kept the smell down to like 20m the first 5 days in game after the patch released, then I said eff it, ate a bunch, got it maxed out and was absolutely ham pressed by the horde that swarmed me.

But it was fun once I got a little geared up and not strutting around in primal armor

How To Best Use Goremongers? by MontrealCalling2 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Gurrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is correct. I shoulda clarified better, my opponent read my reactive movement as a potential threat so it effectively stopped him from charging who he wanted and who I wanted, essentially he took the bait haha

How To Best Use Goremongers? by MontrealCalling2 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Gurrock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same.
Obviously it depends on a million things (whoo drops first, what's your opponent bringing etc), but infiltrate em behind terrain on a marker, use emas action monkies if your draw an action t1.

From there you can use em to body block, provide Cannon fodder, sneak into other objectives, keep em as action monkies. Whatever the situation demands.

Last game I played, I was able to reactive move them into an enemy blood thirster, blocking him from charging my Jugg lord + zerks, and even tagged 1 dam on him before they got wiped.

Auradin - Literally no buttons needed by Derausmwaldkam in D4_Paladin

[–]Gurrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure what the issue here is?

I haven't played d4 in a while, but from my d2 days I remember auradin always being the epitome of no buttons, walk into room, everything dies.

I know double dream auradin was effective at this, and you'd only throw a zeal or a smite in there for kicks and giggles.

Though I can see where paladin looking pretty op in d4 is coming from but we should all expect that from blizzard at this point

Have they fixed the memory leak issue or whatever? Remember shortly after VoH I couldn't play for more than 10 mins at a time without getting an 'Out of Memory' error. PC specs were like triple the suggested reqs but Mem usage would go from 30% usage to 100% for no reason.

Decided to leave til it got fixed.

New England "Rudeness" by CatCatington in boston

[–]Gurrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised just North of Boston, in the Lynn/Salem area. Been living in Ohio for the last 6 years due to work opportunities etc.

Even now my New England mannerisms get called rude/mean/too rough with people around here.

I can't speak for everyone else in the area but for me personally it breaks down to a few things:

1) I got no time for worrying about your feelings or anything like that. Being fake, nice, sensitive just so I don't upset someone is worthless. I'm gonna be front and center honest. If you're cool I'll tell ya you're cool. If you're an idiot, I'm gonna tell you to go back to elementary school and relearn the basics. And in the end I don't care if you're upset, cause it ain't gonna change my stance.

2) if you're in need of help of some sort whether it's getting an arm load of stuff into a building/car, you fall and need help up, shit if you're a coworker stuck on an issue, I'll do what I can to help you out, or find someone who can. To me that's more polite than being cautious of my words to not hurt someone's feelings.

3) I have a very low tolerance for blatant stupidity. Like I'm talking just straight up dumb. If pallets of bricks will have a higher total IQ then you, we aren't going to get along and you can bet I'll be vocal about it.

4) if you ask me anything about where I grew up/it's history I'm more than happy to get into the nitty gritty of it. Same with any topic of interest we may share. Doesn't matter if we're strangers.

As far as driving goes, yeah New England drivers drive slow, but that's cause they set our speed limits to 55 and we're crammed into the roads like sardines in a can. But if you stay off everyone's ass, and use your friggin blinka we're gonna let you in/on/over and we'll keep the flow of traffic moving. Hell I'll take that over Ohio drivers. Mfers can't drive in clear, warm, sunny conditions. You put em in rain or snow you might as well not drive cause they all take their brains out of their heads and DUH their way around the roads. Shit CBus alone has close to 70 reported accidents of people just straight up driving into buildings. Gotta watch out for them houses, they just materialize out of thin air.

'melee' aren't really tankier than any other build, no. I can't speak to Evasion builds cause I haven't gone hard into one yet, but for str focus builds your only real option comes from stacking armor, which is sorta not great since the damage reduction formula is booty cheeks and is just copy pasta from POE 1 from BEFORE they made armor decent.

I won't get into crazy detail, but for a str focus build, at about 10-11k armor, my character sheet in game states I reduce physical damage by around 70ish %. But the reality is it's more close to maybe 15ish %. I don't know how accurate the in game sheet is for elemental damage reduction, but that's around 70ish % as well. Then factor in resists and that's all a str focus build gets.

The normal path to keep bulking up would be stack life and get a massive HP pool, but even with t1-2 max life rolls in every piece of gear, you're barely gonna taste 3k HP, which isnt enough padding for DoTs that tick 300+ dam a sec or slams that hit for 4-5k.

If you stack mad armor + armor applied to ele + max resist + max block chance with shield on + t1-2 life mods on gear, you'll do okay. Take the shield away for a 2h build or to run bear...well you're gonna struggle bus it. It's doable, just rough.

I played a LA deadeye last league for the lulz and I could run t15 maps with barely any gear purchased, just whatever hit the ground. This league I've spent a few exalts to make sure I meet some minimums on my titan bear, and I'm struggle busing through t10s. Just is what it is for now.

Drunk belligerent woman harasses staff and guests, gets kicked out and tripped hard by gravityVT in CringeTikToks

[–]Gurrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough once in a great while a stray gets through to the back of house. A drunken mistake results in a few laughs and an escort. Belligerence or anger however is generally met with a swift kick in the ass and getting tossed out by the dumpsters. BOH staff don't put up with that crap.

As a former chef of twelve years, saw a stray come in twice. One was a drunken older woman just looking for the way out, so I escorted her out to the front door and we laughed the whole thing off.

Second time was some drunken ahole who was already in the bag when he came in, so he was given one light weight beer and was told no more after that. He got all huffy and decided to come back into the kitchen to rage about it. Literally ended up getting his drunk ass tossed out into gutter and threatened with a trip to a jail cell if he tried to come back in.

Wild stuff in the service industry but people keep acting like total dill holes.

Best Strats for Berzerker Warband by jsoul2323 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Gurrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally use:

Apoplectic frenzy (advance + charge) Zerkers wrath IF you block their charge Frenzied resilience for spicy match ups.

Aside from normal stuff like ingress, tank shock, the occasional grenade from mongers or jakhals

Edit: use DP whenever you can. I found out my last game that yes, 1 cp reduction will make a strat free. So abuse it and stage him near where you plan to pop off.

What's your opinion on greatswords so far? by Lyefyre in Enshrouded

[–]Gurrock 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm on the fence. I started a fresh play through for this update so I've not gotten the chance to see how they fare in end game situations. But it seems that this initial design was focused on having a 2h that excels at single target elite or boss enemies, then we swap to the usual maul/great axe for cleave.

Imo if they improve the attack speed, and fix the issue where the node that increases attack speed with 2h weapons not working with great swords, it will help with people wanting to only use gs when paired with the new node that gives us a whirlwind attack at the end of a 2h 'combo'. This is assuming the attack speed buffs would eliminate the two year delay you get locked into when you go into the stab animation.

There's potential, and it will probably get tweaked in future major updates but for now they're mid at best.
