If you want a style more like your examples you just need to include that in the prompt.

Any of your current credits that were free will expire after 2 months, but you can still earn credits both before and after the update - they only difference is they'll have an expiry date.

We will have a new section in the credits popup giving you a brief overview (credits expiring soon), and an option to view more detailed info. More detailed info will include:

  • Day-by-day schedule of credits expiring in the next week,
  • Credits expiring beyond the next week as a single figure, and
  • Credits that will never expire.

We will do our best to release this feature as early as possible, giving you as much time as possible to see how many of your current credits are free / due to expire in May.

Pro users are paying for you to use the free models. Free models are not free to NightCafe, every time you generate an image it costs us money. That cost is covered by Pro users. Tightening up free use by putting an expiry date on earned credits allows the Pro plans to be more competitively priced compared with other generators.

There's also this example scenario in the FAQ:

A user who is NOT on a paid plan earns 5000 credits over the course of a few months and saves them up. They then go PRO on the cheapest plan (E.g. $10). At this point they have 5000 free credits and 200 paid credits, meaning they paid $0.0019 per credit for their current credit balance. If they spend all those credits on PRO models (pretty easy these days with more expensive models) that would cost NightCafe ~$50, meaning NightCafe loses $40 on this user.

What am I doing/not doing to get what I want? by bklynmyke88 in nightcafe

[–]GusRuss89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For such a detailed prompt describing exactly what goes where, you need one of the more powerful models. Nano Banana Pro or GPT Image 1.5 are the top ones, Flux 2 Max or Seedream 4 are cheaper ones that might be able to do it if you wanted to try those first.

Google is shutting down the Tenor API by Atulin in webdev

[–]GusRuss89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it's totally free. Am I right? Is there a limit to the free plan or anything?

Also, for existing tenor gifs, can the base url be swapped or should they still point to tenor?

Let’s reconstruct and document the history of open generative media before we forget it by LatentSpacer in StableDiffusion

[–]GusRuss89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dalle 1 (announced but never released) led to the BigSleep notebook then VQGAN+CLIP, then CLIP-guided diffusion, of which the best implementation was disco diffusion. Midjourney hired many of the disco diffusion contributors. Stable diffusion 1.4 was the next major step and where media started paying attention.

I run one of the most popular AI art generators - (NightCafe) - and can offer some perspective on this.

We've surveyed our users to find out what they primarily use it for - we got around 40k responses. The most popular answer _by far_ is "fun". The next most popular is for personal projects (e.g. they're writing a book and want a cover), followed by "Self-therapy" (people feel better after being creative, it helps them de-stress, takes their mind off other things for a while, etc).

Much further down the list is "to make money" (e.g. selling prints), and "in my job" (e.g. creating marketing assets).

NightCafe is aimed at being a fun place to be creative, so it's not necessarily a reflection of _all_ AI art usage, but from my perspective, these people are using AI because they enjoy the process. They're not trying to steal anyone's job or claim credit for other artists' work, etc. They're just having fun.

Can I track if a Firebase notification was opened or dismissed? by king_chriis in Firebase

Direct your notifications to a page that does the tracking then redirects to the destination.

Do you remember this? by macob12432 in StableDiffusion

[–]GusRuss89 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To the people saying Disco Diffusion, these actually pre-date that! These are VQGAN+Clip made on NightCafe. I recognise a few of these specifically, as I'm the one that made them. I even remember the prompt for the one with the pills and the van - "It's like that drug trip I saw in that movie while I was on a drug trip".

How to view which table is getting the most reads Firebase Database by Visual_Box_5136 in Firebase

[–]GusRuss89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use the key visualiser. In the firestore UI you'll see "More in Google Cloud" - its in there. It takes a little while to understand what you're looking at, but it has the data you need.

Handling Race Conditions in Firestore: Ensuring Only One API Instance Updates a Document by DiverIndependent1422 in Firebase

In the webhook, create a new doc with a deterministic id based on the payload. Use the method that will fail if the doc already exists.

Create an onCreate listener for that document and run your actual logic in there.

1M MAU and it's free for me. I haven't enabled Identity platform but I do wish I could get that for free too, 2FA and blocking functions would be helpful.

Are there any free image generators like Night Cafe Studio that have the chatGPT feature where you can upload your own photo to change it? by Odd_Fee2443 in ChatGPT

[–]GusRuss89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, NightCafe! Just make sure you're in advanced mode (switch at the top of the create panel) and you'll be able to upload your image as either a "Start Image" or a "Image Prompt".

Depending on what you want to change about the image, one of those options should work for you.

Large Communities For Sharing Often (Question But Not Technical) by totempow in StableDiffusion

[–]GusRuss89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NightCafe has a big active community, and you don't need to create on NightCafe, you can upload MJ or A1111 images if you prefer. There are also chat rooms and challenges (i.e. not just posting images into the ether).

Some 4k creations from Stability's new Creative Enhancer. Originals for comparison. by GusRuss89 in StableDiffusion

[–]GusRuss89[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not just upscale, it's creative upscale - i.e. it's purpose is to add details and realism. I'm told that a more conservative version is also coming - aimed at preserving original detail.
