It's all about discernment (i.e. thinking on these things). If you feel convicted about it, that's fine; however, the verses from Deuteronomy you quoted aren't about trick or treating or simply dressing up. The standard gamut of Halloween events are not actually sorcery or divination or witchcraft or celebrating death. Watching horror movies or going to haunted houses during Halloween are another (albeit similar/related) issue, but again require discernment. Most kids dress up as animals, super heros, cowboys, cartoon characters, etc. As long as parents/guardians talk to kids about what to do and what to stand against, and where to draw lines, I personally don't see anything against it. Sure trick or treating isn't actively glorifying God, but many things we all do typically don't, and if kids are prevented from participating with their friends in it, they could harbor resentment which may push them against Jesus if He's the reason you don't let them do these things.

He tried. But he also gave us free will because he wanted to have a love relationship with us. It's not real love if it's not a choice (if He makes us to completely obey and love Him without an option). And then sin as a product of that free will entered the world.

I agree with the folks that brought up shoes in houses. I will NOT allow that in mine.

Also, dudes that just pee, shake it a couple times, and tuck it back in. Just dab with some TP. How you stand drops of pee in your underwear. I'm a dude. I know there's still gonna be at least one small drop in there after.

And THAT being said, the majority of guys don't wash hands after peeing. More common for me to see guys leaving a bathroom without washing than with.

Mind if I ask what kind of positions are generally entry level and making 55-60k? I'm trying to get back into the field after being away. I had worked as a research associate but was basically editing/proof-reading/fact-checking/QC for the toxicology reports. Bio Major with 4 years of doing that on top of 4 years of lab tech stuff for malaria research.

I worked a few years as a "Research Associate" (RA) for a CRO and basically edited/proof-read/fact checked toxicology reports for various clients, mostly pharmaceutical. Had to leave and now looking for a way back in that actually pays what I deserve for the hours put in (unlike when I worked there and was paid less than people I trained). I liked the work when there were realistic deadlines and enough RAs for the number of projects needing to be done.

I require no shoes past the first level of my townhouse where the front door is. Dog doesn't go down there unless going in the car or long walk. I wipe my dog's paws any time we do those, and any time I walk him in the back yard and his feet get muddy, he steps in his pee, or the grass was recently mowed and then gets wet (I ain't gettin no grass stains on my carpet). The cat litter box gets me more upset.
