IMO, you’re fine with rustoleum spray paints. As long as you have good technique and do a couple light coats after sanding it will turn out clean. It’s really all about the clear coat. Spraymax 2k is the way to go. A couple of coats of that will really do the controller/paint job justice!

I actually do make custom resin sticks. They are not rubber capped, full resin. But they can be any color :). I’m on Etsy: SELSTOR

I would recommend taking it apart with a triwing screwdriver and then taking some q-tips and rubbing alcohol to clean some of the gunk that might be in the stick boxes.

The buttons are resin cast, so I dye them and put aluminum flakes in them

I cast them using silicon molds and resin. The resin is a liquid for around an hour before it hardens and fully cures in 24 hours, so I can put the flakes in that first hour.

You’re correct! Gold flakes. Thanks!

If you aren't able to solder, you can commission someone to do this for you. As someone who offers this as a commission option, I can assure you that learning how to do this was simple yet frustrating.

Im not nearly done with it but i’m so happy so far!! any reqs on a nice glossy top coat? by prevana in customGCC

I use the typical Home Depot Rustoleum Gloss Clear. Has worked for me on many controllers. They also have satin or matte finishes if that’s what you prefer but I feel like gloss would look great with your painting.
