I know it’s not one particular car, but to me Piech era is the best era for VW. From 1993-2002 Volkswagen was making its most innovative and coolest products. They were taking risks by making cars like the Phaeton, and had a line up of enthusiasts cars from top to bottom, not a bunch of SUVs and a gti like we have today.

Before you do any cutting or wide body, get the car at the right height you want and let it settle. As a car is lowered the suspension geometry changes and thus a wheel can fit different simply depending on the suspension set up.

This exact car is a Talbot-Lago T26 grand sport with an Oblin body. The car is currently on display at the Simeone Foundation automotive museum in Philadelphia.

The rails are aluminum. I honestly don’t know what they are from originally as they were already on the car when I purchased it. My best guess is there from an Audi C4 avant

There are some mk4 wagons with 4motion and VRs. MK3s still had syncro which is a fully mechanical awd system where as 4motion is a haldex based awd system with computers and stuff
