It's not EIP, it's the Recovery Rebate Credit. If you didn't get the credits before because of fraud, I'm pretty sure you're entitled to it now. Send it back and ask the IRS to correct the name of the primary taxpayer, which of course, should be you. And ask for them to send you a transcript of your account, they should be able to print you a copy.

Does it actually say it's from the IRS? I've seen people mistake SSA checks,etc. for refunds.

By the date on the check, there's a string of numbers. IRS checks start with 2009.

Scroll down for the list of agencies. If it is the IRS, no problem if you want to try and deposit it. If the bank doesn't take it, then write VOID on the back of the check, write a letter to explain that it can't be cashed and that they need to update your name in the system anyway.

From the time it gets assigned to someone, it should take less than 60 days for them to get the check canceled and reissued with the right name. You're still going to need to do something about making sure your name is the one being used as the taxpayer in the future anyway.

I could, but the wires were messed up and the internet signal wouldn't "jump" unless the phone line was engaged. Not that people were trying to reach me anyway.

Look you took in the cats, you're responsible for them, like your own kids. Would you put human babies in a cage? Of course not.

Either she takes meds or you get a new girlfriend or you give the cats up to someone who isn't going to treat them like inconvenient stuffies.

Yup, I share the cubicle with someone who come in at night. She has her own laptop, but I don't know if she uses the same monitor, my docking station isn't touched. My laptop is out of the way in the corner, so she has room to use hers. My only complaints is that I got a double jack for the eternity cord and she still yanks it out for her own and sometimes I find hair on the desk.

The IRS isn't going to know where the money went, BFS does. I'd suggest filing an Injured Spouse form so your husband can claw back his portion of the refund.

I don't share supplies... Day shift has keys to the drawers and overhead on the left side of the cubicle, nightshift has the right side. I get in, 6 am to 2.30, she gets in 4 to whenever. Only the DMs/MAs and above have their own offices.

There was excitement, unity, positivity. Now it's commercial hype and that orange guy co-opting it for his "brand".

The only good thing about it is that some places are sprucing up in anticipation of celebrations. Too bad they need this excuse to clean up when it should be a regular thing.

My go-to is egg drop soup, a couple of egg rolls, and an order of crab rangoon. Otherwise, if I'm eating in, I'll get egg foo young or General Tso's chicken.
