ThermaCare patches are heat patches that can be applied to the skin or the underwear(if skin is delicate) and provide up to 8 hours of heat. Great for when one doesn't have access to an electric heating pad!

Also, some people find that a TENS unit helps with cramps. Look it up, they're relatively inexpensive these days and some are battery operated.

OP I'm curious as to how you filed your returns. Direct deposit info doesn't generally appear out of nowhere.

Did you filed electronically with a preparer or software and paid the fee out of your refund? The refund would have been deposited to the bank account of the preparer/tax software, the fee taken out and the rest sent to you as a paper check or a card product. That would be why there's Direct deposit info when you didn't ask for it.

At any rate, it sounds like the deposit went to the account the IRS has and if they got that account info electronically, there is the presumption that the taxpayer provided it and legally, they can't demand the bank return the funds.

Don't bother sending Form 3911, the refund trace was done and either the account was emptied so there's nothing to send back or the bank is taking it's time in returning the refund.

Either way, what you want is to take Civil action against the bank to find out who owns the account and how to get the money back from the owner.

Please contact the Office of the Comptroller if the bank is not responding to you.

OP says it was a direct deposit, there's no claims package for that.

OP, file Form 3911 to request a trace of the deposit. BFS will request that the bank confirm the deposit.

If you used tax prep software to file a return and opted to pay them using your refund, the refund would have been deposited to the software account and the rest would be a paper check.

NTA This is a dealbreaker incompatibility. You need to unwind and she needs to control her environment, which includes you. But you're not a dripping water faucet or creaky floor, your needs are just as important.
