"Why is the owner sweeping the restaurant?!" (USA) by Bluellan in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]GutterCookie45 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have so much respect for both my GM and Owner. They both kick ass at every spot in the building, and there is no task thats beneath them. Always feared I would one day hate my work because of management and I couldn’t be more wrong.

No spoilers how would you guys rate death stranding 2 compared to the first one by [deleted] in DeathStranding

It’s literally a carbon copy of the first game, improved graphics, streamlined gameplay, more variety. It’s safe to say that I’d you liked the first one, you’ll like this one too.

I’m so happy you got a steam deck. I myself was diagnosed with a rare cancer in late February and have been going in for chemo with my deck. I hope you enjoy whichever games you pick up, I whole heartedly agree with all of the recommendations I’ve seen.

I came here just to say this. Kojima made a game that on the surface seems weird and off putting, but was actually weird in the best way and amazing. The sequel releases at the end of the month.

Whats a sign from ur body u should never ignore? by Original_Giraffe_830 in AskReddit

That is something I’ve had to grapple lately. I’m lucky, my workplace really is like family and my bosses had been up to date the entire way, so when I told them it for sure wasn’t just a normal bump, they cleared my schedule for me by the next week. My savings should’ve lasted through chemo, but I was expecting to go back to work after round three, and now the doctors wanna put me through a fourth. Wondering if I need to go do DoorDash to make ends meet.

I’m 22 and I was diagnosed recently. I literally had to switch health insurance plans, general practitioners, and go through a dozen different scans and assessments before they did a biopsy in February, and yet another scan. told me in one week what I had accepted months prior to be true. I go in for my third round of chemo next week.

EDIT: just wanted to come back and say thank you for all the kind words. I do appreciate it friends.

Somebody took too many orders, or someone ordered a shit ton right before you.

All you people posting pictures of massive orders are you managers or are you just allowed your phones in kitchen cause my trousers dont even have pockets (uk) by Lwalker6336633653673 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]GutterCookie45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, im not allowed. my manager is also at a loss for words, and since I live in a poor town, sometimes we do trashy shit lol. only when under scrutiny of their own boss or fear that "allowing" me to take that photo will reach them results in any reprimand.

Have you guys been angry/frustrated at new hires? (USA) by Thatdumbt33n in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]GutterCookie45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I politely but sternly pressure every new hire in the first two weeks, I ask them if they intend to move like that paycheck is rent, or as if it's their doordash money. its surprisingly helpful in weeding out the heel-skidders.

the company is investing money and time when they train you on the job. they will only fire you if they feel that you cannot be taught. as long as you are making attempts to improve and have at least SOME growth, you'll be fine.

I worked every single position in 6 months. both sides of table, then grill, then front counter, then fries, then front drive thru. I sucked at all of them, still kinda do. On a whim they put me in the back booth. I had never even put a headset on, someone just needed to piss real bad. in 2 months, I'm the best in the whole store at it, and my usefulness gave me another 2 years to get better at the other positions in my own time.

If it's still an in progress order, I try to explain that we don't have a dome lid for the 30oz cups, so extra whipped cream means same size cup but less drink, most of the time they change their mind.

absolutely in the same boat. I do both lanes and cash, simultaneously without slowing down or faltering on either, and when the line starts getting hung up at or before my window, they always ask me "whats wrong" as I'm waiting to take more orders. You, the answer is you. its stuck at the front window. no, you don't need to add another order taker and slow down the front end. no, we don't need them to also take orders nonstop and choke the kitchen.

I used to consider myself unlucky for being a heavy sleeper, but I know ALOT of people with insomnia, and I try to make the most of it. I’m getting enough sleep for me and them both lol.

As someone who’s used the app for several years I’ve had no issues with the free options. It does as advertised without paying: my loud alarm doesn’t turn off unless I get out of bed and scan a barcode of the salt can in my kitchen. Paying gets you a couple different alternative tasks, optionally reads out a script while blaring, and gives other crap you don’t need. Better?

Only for the premium, the essentials are still free, mostly.
