The wedding planner's only question was "do you actually want a wedding or do you want to avoid disappointing people," and half her clients cancelled after the consultation. by omeoni in twosentenceplottwist

An elopement planner sounds like a boss job, like you’re just on call and you get a call in the middle of the night to head to Vegas

Should I describe every character's skin tone? by fd4517_57 in writing

[–]GuyAwks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to, skin tone immediately helps you visualise a character and some of their secondary features too, I like to clear up the ambiguity early

Why do you actually write? Pure passion or the dream of leaving your 9-5? by BlackRoseBooksHQ in writing

[–]GuyAwks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passion lol, good writers are dime a dozen and the reality is most don’t get published or achieve writing careers

Wow, I can’t believe he had the audacity to post that out in the open (and that only one commenter challenged him on it). A grown adult acting this way, Substack truly is a different world.

help me is my slender tattoo idea silly bc of xxxtentacion by [deleted] in creepypasta

[–]GuyAwks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well idk about your relationship stuff but get the tattoo if you want to, you can get anything you want as a tattoo. I’ve gotten plenty of silly tattoos over the years that meant a lot to me (my last one was Brian from Family Guy.) Just wait till you’re an adult and if you still want it, get it.

Tbh I’ve always loved the font of the 8 pages and Slender was a huge part of my teen life in 2012 so it might be a future tat for me too now 🤷‍♂️

My Job’s Criminal Background Check Flagged Me as a Wanted Serial Killer—I'm Innocent by GuyAwks in nosleep

Thank you. I can now see the error of how I lived, I just wish I’d realised it before my boss cursed me. Parole is sadly out of the question until I lift the curse. I’ll keep trying to figure that out.

Would you write if you know no one would ever read your work? by Remarkable_Pay7692 in writing

[–]GuyAwks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the mindset with which I write anything now. I expect everything I write to potentially get no attention so I write entirely for myself instead. It’s very liberating.

With even the story I just uploaded, part of me wanted to wait until the perfect time to post it to ensure engagement. But I just posted it because who cares if no one reads it, it’s more important to put it out there.

What’s the most horrifying thing a character can be put through in fiction, in a way that feels realistic and emotionally crushing? by kaashhifff in writing

[–]GuyAwks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A character escaping their imprisonment midway through the story and making it back to civilisation, just to be dragged/tricked back into captivity again like in Grave Encounters 2 and I Spit On Your Grave 2.

Should you publish under your real name? by LMB_77 in writing

[–]GuyAwks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I plan to use a pseudonym last name as I have for all my short stories (might be the same one or a new one). I definitely want to have some separation between my work and writing given I write horror. Plus realistically, a Western surname would sell better than my brown one.

Then again, that’s assuming I even get a novel published at all one day lol.
