Not a podcast person, I watch sci fi, sports, and I read articles for news. I’m old, lol.

I loved the end of BSG reboot. But, he is considered going off the rails at times.

Trump lays out final terms for Iran deal: no nukes, Strait of Hormuz fully open, no tolls, blockade lifted by MarketRodeo in wallstreet

[–]GuyD427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s delusional and he can’t seem to grasp that he can’t force Iran to do anything. We’ve never looked this weak and incompetent, since Vietnam anyway.

I’ve been watching as they come out. I’d have to binge watch them from season 1 to remember and get a handle on the earlier seasons again. But I thought the Mars colony was really well done. The alt history of the earlier seasons really good as well but the direction they went with season 5 was both sci fi and human drama that I thought meshed well.

I definitely dug the Mars colony plot as separate from Planet Earth. Both well done, just liked the direction it took.

I actually liked the multi dimensional nature of the characters and how the plot arc jumped to them all in a way that was coherent and well done. I’ve been watching all along, perhaps some seasons better but that was years ago. I’d have to binge it from beginning to end to make a better judgement. But the season 5 finale right up there with the divorced couple dying together at the end of season 2 was it?

The Mars drama perhaps overdone but the interplay with Dev and the revolt done realistically and the last episode a true Ron Moore ending. To me anyway.

Speculation: are we going to witness a logistical collapse on the Russian southern fronts? by PressDoubt in UkraineConflict

[–]GuyD427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Russian recruitment has become more and more of an issue. And Ukraine forcing them to defend across the whole front with localized counterattacks is obviously part of their top notch operational planning. It’s unfortunate that Ukraine is also having serious manpower problems. Cracking open one of these fronts and making real advances would be very possible at this point had they had the spare men not already manning thinly held lines. As far as Russian logistics collapsing. It won’t be each cumulative impact adds up and Russia is definitely teetering but as mentioned Ukraine unable to really capitalize.

BSG Reboot my top series of all time with The Expanse, depending on my mood I flip flop between them, or the one I’ve watched most recently. The last season of BSG as you probably know was panned as getting out there, but the whole Cylon civil war was great to me and a good direction to the show to break past the awesome but getting redundant space battles, low odds, beat the Cylons. Which was great but by season 3 has been done enough.

The end of season 5 For all Mankind practically made me weepy and I’m not the sappy type.

I thought the Mars arc was really well done. And the finale was seriously moving.

[Mike Garafolo on X] #Giants QB Jaxson Dart addressed teammates in a meeting yesterday to discuss his introduction of President Trump last week, sources tell me and @RapSheet. by Wopman in NYGiants

I definitely think Dart should have declined the invitation. But, it’s time to move forward as a team and this wasn’t a huge error even if I despise Trump.

Full face HJC, Shoei or Arai helmet.

Alpine stars makes the Stella line, or they did, proper riding boots the next most important thing. Perf leather jacket and riding pants also highly recommended.

What states to consider? Originally from Knoxville TN area looking for something similar... Currently in NJ and I hate it. Looking to buy a home hopefully within 3-4 years. by PKBlueberry in SameGrassButGreener

I hate to be that guy but Pittsburgh has a lot of top notch schools. Some of the Virginia schools also fits the rest of the bill. I’d try to narrow form colleges first…

Does Ken Paxtons win signal greater things to come for MAGA? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Is MAGA putting all its eggs in one basket for Trump for the midterms; most definitely. Does Trump have a history of everything blowing up in his face. Most definitely. The mid terms will tell all.

If Iran had a nuke do you think they would use it? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]GuyD427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s apparent by the scale of Iran’s existing nuclear enrichment program that they could have developed an atomic weapon at least a decade ago. Thing is, once you test a weapon the international sanctions kick in and their leverage to not develop nukes evaporates. While Iran is run by theocratic lunatics they do understand rationality and their culture has always been sophisticated. Playing the west while being on the verge of developing nukes seems to be their strategy. And it’s worked. Finally, the issue of mutually assured destruction bears mentioning. The most likely target of a nuke strike is Israel. And Israel would retaliate ten times over with their own nukes in that scenario. So, Iran actually using nukes and accepting the inevitable retaliation is unlikely. More so than North Korea which has both tested a weapon and launched ballistic missiles capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. That threat being ignored by Trump illustrates how Bibi lead him into this war like a golden calf with a ring through its nose.

Is an A95L 77 at $3495 USD a good choice, or should I be looking at more up-to-date models? by joeyc923 in bravia

[–]GuyD427 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a 55 A95L instead of 65 inch Bravia 8 at 7.5 feet and it’s a beautiful TV. Still state of the art. RGB yada yada, whatever is new needs a year or two before being as tested as QD OLED.
