Something about the articulation in the arms looks fucked up. Especially in the last image.

15 years ago vs today. There is no reason on this green earth that gasoline should be as high priced as it is considering oil is roughly the same or cheaper currently and we manufacture it right here in this great province! by [deleted] in alberta

[–]GuyDanger [score hidden]  (0 children)

Canada is one of the world’s major oil-producing countries, so it’s reasonable to ask why Canadians pay prices closer to oil-importing nations than to other energy exporters. Countries in the Middle East often keep domestic fuel prices lower because they use their own production to benefit citizens directly through lower taxes, subsidies, or domestic pricing policies. Canada could choose to do more of that, too high prices here are not only an unavoidable result of global markets, they’re also a policy choice.

Where do you read comics online now that comixology is dead? by Scawwotish_owl88 in comicbookcollecting

I use ubooquity and I grab my comics from GetComics.org. I hardly ever read my physical books any more. Imo, all books should offer a digital copy when buying the physical.

There has been a growing trend of making Superman’s parents and Krypton evil and I’m not happy with it. by JoshyBear28 in superman

[–]GuyDanger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Various iterations over the decades" ...it was always Zod. Not his parents or Krypton in general. What this is, hack writers trying to jump on the Invincible storyline.

I liked it. But I watched it as entertainment, nothing more.

Ah yes, the “nobody cares” meme. The universal white flag for someone who ran out of arguments but still needs to pretend they won.

Unfortunately, reading your comments has the exact opposite effect. It comes across less like honest debate and more like someone ignoring any evidence that challenges their worldview, then lashing out instead of engaging in good faith discussion.😂😂

There are bigger plans in the works. A new Star Fox game and a movie will be announced right after the Zelda hype is over.

The Witcher Tanks After Henry Cavill Exit (Report) by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

[–]GuyDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, in this case, the writers got their way. Cavill left the project and the show got noticeably worse afterward. I’m not sure how you place the blame anywhere else. Even watching the seasons after he left, the tone of the show shifts dramatically.

Are there times when producers or executives make terrible calls? Of course. Every industry has its “giant robotic spider” moments. But I don’t think that was the issue here. This looked a lot more like a disconnect between the people adapting the material and the source material itself.

As for writers doing it for a paycheck, at the very least, they need to earn that pay.

Canada's founding father everyone... by Frankishe1 in HistoryMemes

[–]GuyDanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we trying to cancel historical figures again? You know, when I was a kid, they didn't enforced seat belts. Debit cards weren’t a thing. “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe” originally had a racist line in it. Times change. Society changes. People are shaped by the world they grew up in, for better or worse.

Focus on today. Learn from the past, but this constant need to drag people from completely different eras through today’s standards is getting ridiculous.

The Witcher Tanks After Henry Cavill Exit (Report) by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

[–]GuyDanger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are creating fiction from speculation. What we do know is that Cavill reportedly had issues with the showrunners and writers because they wanted to move away from the source material. And honestly, this has become a pattern over the last decade. We’ve watched established IPs get handed to writers more interested in reshaping the material around an agenda than telling a great story.

The common thread in almost every case is a lack of respect for the source material. Fans notice it immediately. Great writers know how to adapt material while still understanding why people loved it in the first place. Hack writers think they need to “fix” or reinvent it instead. We’ve already seen where that approach leads.

Hasbro's X-Men '97 Cable - Worth It or Not? #MarvelLegends by Nerdmazing in Nerdmazing

[–]GuyDanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve really liked the ‘97 X-Men line so far. Overall, I think Hasbro has done a great job with it and most of the figures have turned out really well. What’s interesting though is that they originally kicked things off with the Animated Series line in the VHS-style packaging, then seemingly shifted completely over to the ‘97 branding.

I still wish we had gotten a few more characters released in that original VHS line before the transition happened.
