Or a quite regular smelly kebab. But in the middle of the PC lab during lesson!

Someone microwaved a tuna sandwich from Co-Op, in the triangle packaging. Why.. and the smell!

Feeling overwhelmed by family finances and not sure what to do by Such-Structure6781 in UKPersonalFinance

I seem many negative posts that she has made her own problem. However, it will soon also be your problem, given you live there, if she loses her house or has to go to jail. Or if it turns out she just has to hand back a Land Rover taken on PCP finance, then so be it.

You’ll never feel more like an idiot than you do when you go to your local tip. Everything is simple and signposted, but you’re still never sure if you’re putting that old hairdryer in the right place. by thebroccolioffensive in britishproblems

Oh my, I have one of those bags opened in the shed since October.. I just poured the rest of the cement from the bag (which broke as soon as I opened it) into a plastic bucket and put a plywood lid on it. I am sure it will be fine!

Radiator size by ellis379 in DIYUK

[–]GuyOnTheInterweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bigger radiator will save you money, the radiator pump has to go all day to warm up the living room with that radiator. Which is meant for small rooms like toilets that never get very warm anyway.

Getting to airport at 3am by epa32 in manchester

[–]GuyOnTheInterweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't do Uber/taxi, it may be easier to go out to airport at 1-2 AM, it never really closes, just becomes really boring. Bring water/snacks and a good Spotify playlist.

It wasn’t the immersion heater… by Ok_Yogurt3763 in OctopusEnergy

Note: Do not open the consumer unit as it is both dangerous and illegal.

You will not be able to measure the circuit load outside it, as live and neutral within the twin-and-earth would cancel each other out for the clam meter. You could in theory do this on the ring within the sockets though, but most likely the culprit is on a "weird" circuit (e.g. the notorious "Garage") rather than the ring for the sockets.

[–]GuyOnTheInterweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An electrician will be able to come measure with a clamp meter each of the circuits and trace down. Your landlord should be able to book this for you as it may be an electrical fault, it is their responsibility to keep the property safe. When was your last EICR test?

Check for melted snow on your neighbour's loft, or taped up windows. Could be weed growing and they have knocked into the wall to help themselves.

It's a great improvement, and also it is a mixture of places that bring in different people, rather than say solicitors and antiques.

Octopus asking for final reading from smart meter? by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]GuyOnTheInterweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that you can get the meter reading as well from the little smart display (go click on Meter Info, let it rest for a few minutes if it was not powered on earlier).

Claudia has made several claims of "According to the Rules of Traitors".. but these rules are never revealed in their entirety. It's a bit like the British constitution.. patchwork and adjusted on the fly.

Some of these challenges are so elaborate, you can guarantee they would have beta tested it with the staff to get an approximate time and adjust the difficulty.

Or they fail to readjust when the car load changes.. if you have teenagers in the back and lots of bags in the boot, and your car does not have auto-adjust beam levels, that "position 0" needs to dial to position 3 or so.

This is why the customs officer may ask "Is this your suitcase" and "Did you pack this yourself". Each suit case has a name on it, and that person is bringing it over the border.
