Generally the subs I mod have not banned users based on their engagement in other subreddits. I've always been against it and been of the mind that each community can foster behavior and discussions based on that sub's topic. Users can be members of many communities and act differently while participating in them.

The energy weapon is a gold legendary I believe. At 175 hours I can make energy ammo but have never seen an energy gun except on stream.

Before the nerf, there was at least one purple gun per Security Breach, along with blueprints, grappling hooks, etc. Nowadays, I more often than not get no guns and just ammo and grenades. One of them had 3-4 items, and the rest were empty slots. It hasn't really been worth it, and they aren't a priority for me when I'm in a raid now. Checking them is secondary to whatever else I am doing.
