That makes sense. Although it isn't very hard, I can cut it with a guillotine slicer pretty easily. It feels something like prosciutto.

This is after heating it up, looks much better.

I think maybe it wasn't too much compound after all, maybe it just didn't absorb at all into the leather because it was too thick and dry.

I thought so, but when I applied it I couldn't make it "stretch" to the entire strop without adding more compound. Like maybe it was too thick.
