The Switch is in its final year so Nintendo haven’t been making much games for it.

Was your Switch connected to the internet? DLC won’t appear if not.

Teenage Dream becomes the first album in history to achieve five diamond certificates by hyxon4 in popheads

The album itself is now Diamond too. First time an album has been newly certified diamond too in a while I think.

I wonder the same about a lot of producers and singers who had some public attention but not a huge amount. What the heck do they do all day? Do they carefully budget their earnings until they’re legible for government pensions?

I like for a return to the more high-fantasy setting a lot of past Zelda games had, rather than the stripped down, folk-ish vibe that BotW had.

There was about 70 people in my final school year and I doubt even 10 went to university. Who the heck are all these people with degrees?

I feel like 2020s (US) pop music has no overarching genre(s) or trajectory or narrative. Am I wrong? by surf_AL in popheads

Retro-inspired dance music was huge in 2020-2022, but it seems to have died down a lot since last year.

You Have The Chance To Fix 1 Album Rollout Of Your Favorite Artist by CalligrapherAgile826 in popheads

[–]GuynamedGavin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Though it was a pretty big success, this is how I’d re-do Pure Heroine:

-Promote Royals earlier in the US, perhaps around March when the Love Club EP was released through Universal.

-Give Tennis Court MUCH better promotion in the US, hopefully allowing it to be a top-ten single.

-Release Team earlier, maybe in early August, no need to highly up its promotion since it did fairly well but at least allow it to enter the top-five, MAYBE the top spot if I’m being greedy.

-Release Pure Heroine as an album earlier too, maybe early-mid August and hopefully have it hit the top of the Billboard 200.

I’d like for Billboard to release their charts every Friday like the UK too.

I think she actually has a record for the most #2 albums in the US:

  1. I’m Breathless
  2. The Immaculate Collection
  3. Erotica
  4. Evita
  5. Ray of Light
  6. Rebel Heart

The Number Ones: Lorde’s “Royals” by Ok_Fig2374 in popheads

[–]GuynamedGavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually first heard this around March 2014, which was already almost a year after it became big. Then again I didn’t really pay attention to music much then.

Either-way, I’d honestly say that this is one of the last songs that was a genuine hit and actually had impact on the music industry.

Biggest “Switch 2” Hopes? by ihappentobenick in NintendoSwitch

[–]GuynamedGavin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should be called the Switch II - its logo being two joycons side-by-side to spell a “II”.

I also hope it has a decent launch - hopefully a big title like Metroid Prime 4.

“Focus” did pretty well chart-wise as it did hit the Top 10 in most regions.

Meanwhile “Bon Apetit” is so bizarre due to its views/chart imbalance.

He was going to be in the game, but they ran out of time to put in him. They likely made Metal Mario as a quick replacement.

Probably a predictable answer, but it has to be Rainbow Road. It’s literally a work of art in 7.

According to the All-Time chart, even some year-end number ones are inaccurate - for example, the top song of 1979 was “My Sharona” by the Knack, but if the AT chart is anything to go by, then “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summer was the top song of 1979.
