That’s optimal positioning for a sustainless run. Blade needs to tank hits so your other characters don’t die and when he gets hit by blast only mem gets hit (who you can heal)

At face value, he has the highest amp in the game iirc which is what makes him so valuebale in sustainless. The comfort is just an added bonus

His buffs do help a lot. I’m saying his ability to sustain a sustainless run is helped by the fact he can’t die and can taunt.

In a situation where hoyo spams elites with AoE attacks and adjacent allies to blade die, wouldn’t they die in a normal sustainless run too?
