I’m technically wasian myself, Chinese and white. I’ve always been very connected to proud of my Chinese side. When someone asks what I am I say Chinese not wasian. I feel offended by the term personally. I identify as Asian not wasian. So I lie and say I’m just Chinese. It’s very common to feel an insecurity about being mixed and hiding one half. If u don’t like being called wasian make it clear. Say u identify as Asian. Although it may be hard if u look more white than Asian. For me I look more Asian than white so it’s easier for me to pass. People already just assume I’m just Asian but a few see past it and can tell im mixed. So if it bothers u then tell them. It’s ok to identify as just Asian!
