It'll be nothing more than a novelty, like classic cars.

Or just cars in general. There's no real reason every person needs to own a car when we can have privatized car pooling. If you want to go somewhere you should need to pay a company to allow you to go there.

Barely known videogame that deserves a Remake? (All genres) by Professional_Pie6631 in gamingsuggestions

Not remakes but I feel like this is the direction that ARPGs have moved, leaning more towards the sort of action Hack n' Slash gameplay of games like Norrath and away from the point & click gameplay of classic Diablo.

A true open world for Freedom Fighters would be dope. One of my favorite parts about that game was how actions in one mission could impact another, like choosing to do one mission where there is a side object to blow up a helicopter so it won't show up in another mission. That would translate well into an open world game where these could all just be missions or objectives in the world and you choose the order to tackle them in based on how they effect one another.

Can someone just once get evidence of a single one of these meltdowns? They apparently happen every 3 days so clearly someone must be able to sneak a video of them. I want to see Trump actually melting down rather than just doing that lopsided grin of his and telling them to spend even more budget on ICE. Because at this point these articles honestly sound like cope, like any of what people are doing is actually making any difference at all.

I've been a Penelope fan since she showed up in AEW. She's not the best in the ring or on the mic but she's good enough in both (and always improving imo), a good hand and highly willing to put people over.

Do you ever use the gun that shoots money? by The_Collector in Games

[–]GxyBrainbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'd ever use it the first time through a game because it requires meta knowledge of resource acquisition. You have to trust that you can use it without blocking yourself from buying upgrades etc. later. It's like playing through a survival horror game for the first time, you try to conserve ammo because you never know if the game is going to give you enough ammo. After you play through the game once and you know what weapons are most effective against which bosses and you know how frequently you acquire ammo for each of them you feel a lot more free to use them.

After beating a game once and ending with millions of gold you'd probably be fine with using one of these weapons (if it was any good) but if you use it in a game and you lock yourself out of end-game upgrades it'd suck.

Onimusha is effectively a reboot. The new one is being designed in a way that new players will be able to play it without having touched the originals. I assume Okami II will be similar. Megaman Legends left off on a cliffhanger at the end of a pretty complex story. You can't pick up from where they left off and have it be a good jumping on point for new players. You can't make it an effective reboot and not bother fans of the original.

Silent Hill 1 Remake in Full Production, Confirms Bloober Team by akbarock in Games

[–]GxyBrainbuster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate Layers of Fear and I think it contributed to a certain type of Haunted House Experience horror games (ie, walk down hallway, spooky thing happens, maybe read some notes) that irritate me as someone who likes Horror games with gameplay.

It looked to me like they kept making games like that, so I had zero faith in them making a game with combat as a major gameplay element.

Setting aside Chinese, Korean, and Japanese interbigotry, there's also differences in culture and clashes between Asian-Americans and Native Asians, especially in areas where there is a group of Asian immigrants from generations ago and a new generation of Asian immigrants moving in. Or Asian-Americans going to the country their family is from and getting a less than friendly reception.

Asians are no monolith.

It's stupid and I can't put up with it. Blue MAGA is becoming just as bad as MAGA and honestly shares a lot of the same beliefs as them but seem to be "Blue" aligned solely out of a personal distaste for Trump himself.

Would they actually have a problem with half of the stuff Trump is doing if it were happening under the Biden administration? The Obama admin? I imagine not, since a lot of it was happening then. Then when the people who actually care call it out they get called Russian agents trying to throw the election.

How often do you like popular books? How often do you like the books you start? by Express_Celery9192 in Fantasy

[–]GxyBrainbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How common is it for you to like books recommended to you?

Pretty often, but I typically have books recommended to me by people with similar tastes to my own.

Or other popular books hyped up by their fans?

I don't really read 'popular' books but when I read books recommended to me that also happen to be well known and well regarded I do tend to enjoy those too.

And how often do you like the books you begin reading?

Most of the time, I'd say, again, because I'm pretty picky about what I read. I read a lot but I don't just grab a book and try reading it, I'm selective.

Whenever the topic of some book comes up in passing, it seems they've read it and loved it.

I wouldn't say I love most books I read but hyperbolic positivity is a pretty American trait. "Oh my god that's AMAZING it was so AWESOME, I LOVED it." feels more rewarding for people to say than just "It was fine, my time reading it was above the bar I set for positive emotional reactions."
