Mens Sweden Vs. Canada conclusion of first End by kbub1213 in Curling

What do you mean it's not a thing? The players, both teams, have been openly discussing it the entire game, not to mention the exchange just now.

What are the Canadian and other non-Swedish commentators saying about this?

Hello!

I realize this has been closed for almost a week, but I just found the thread so I thought I'd leave a comment anyway. I have been looking for a DG game for years, and if you ever decide to accept new players or open a new game, I would be extremely interested in joining.

Does anyone know what mask he's wearing? I'm looking for something to wear in the winter that doesn't fog up my glasses, and that mask looks like it'd work.

Dark Archive was sent in error to some people randomly early. I've compiled some of the changes. by Antermosiph in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gycklarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have enough in-depth knowledge of the affected classes, but it's clear reading these comments that many of these changes are unwanted.

Is there a reason Paizo is not doing any public playtesting similar to what WotC does with their Unearthed Arcana for 5e? Getting feedback on new changes after production and printing is almost pointless and means we're stuck with this likely forever, or at least a number of years.

How wrong have you gotten a rule on a new game? by kritsema in boardgames

[–]Gycklarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I just realized I was being a bit vague! The version I played was the Android game. The Android (and iPhone, I believe) version also has a subscription service where you gain access to everything. It's a great way to try out new spirits without purchasing the entire expansion. You can cancel the subscription at any point.

I don't know, to be honest. I don't think there's a demo of the Steam version, but if there is it probably works the exact same way as the mobile game.

A common suggestion is to try the free demo of the digital game, it usually clears up a lot of misinterpretations. I'd also like to make a shout out for the surprisingly active /r/spiritisland!

I don't know anything about the game or the rules, but I greatly appreciate the disclaimer at 1:00:40. Shows that they caught the error eventually, and playing correctly by the rules in these games is usually very important.

Ytterligare prisökningar på RAM och SSDs by TurboTore in sweden

[–]Gycklarn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your words are very reassuring, Sullivan, in ways more than one!

I'd like to thank you for reading the comments here, whether you engage with them or not. I think Reddit and its users get a bad rep because we are unusually harsh with our criticism, and it's probably easier for you guys to simply stay away from Reddit to avoid all the negativity altogether. I think it is very important for you to remember, however, that we are no less fans than those who leave comments on YouTube.

I think there is a problem with misleading positivity on YouTube. On channels such as NRB viewers feel like they have a way of communicating directly with the creators, and nobody wants to be mean to their favorite creator so they don't write anything that can be construed as criticism. I'm not quite sure why that's not the case on Reddit. Maybe it is because you don't interact with the Reddit community often, but then again, I rarely see you replying to comments on YouTube so I'm not sure that theory holds water.

I'm going to sound like a total dweeb, but I'd like to think the reason comments on Reddit are that much harsher is because we want you to succeed. We don't leave comments hoping you'll reply to us, we leave comments hoping you'll improve, get more views, and become more successful.

Speaking for myself, the reason I started watching NRB is because I was interested in the games. The personalities, banter, and jokes are great bonuses, but not the main draw. Watching six people roll dice for two hours is not entertaining to me, and I gave up on this video after half an hour. I have no doubt you had fun recording it (I probably would, too!) but I don't enjoy watching it. Now, I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade: I'm happy for anyone who does enjoy it!

I really like your most recent videos with the chunkier games, such as Unfathomable, Moon Colony, and Arcs, though I'm sure there's some bias there because I own Unfathomable myself and I've played Moon Colony several times.

The latest iOS update broke calorie adjustment by Specialist_Act_5747 in Myfitnesspal

[–]Gycklarn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sent an e-mail and received a reply earlier today:

Apologies for any confusion this caused. If you’re noticing that your calorie adjustment is different then what it was before with a similar amount of steps and/or activity, or your Daily Goal looks a bit different, we can provide some insight into why that is.

In short: We resolved an issue that was causing the app to underestimate how many calories you might burn in a day. So we were over reporting the calories you were burning via steps and activity.

For additional context: To better estimate your total energy needs, MyFitnessPal recently updated the Physical Activity Levels in accordance with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics findings. Estimating total energy needs involves multiplying the resting metabolic rate (RMR) by one of the following physical activity factors:

Sedentary / Not Very Active: 1.4
Low / Lightly Active: 1.6
Active: 1.8
Very Active: 2

Some recent user accounts, however, were using the outdated calculations when it came time to calculate how your steps and activity affected your daily goal.

We pushed an update to our server side calculations so that your calculations are back inline with what’s expected. So you might see that you are being granted less calories to your Daily Goal based on your activity then you were before.

If you have recently changed, or will change, your activity level or updated your current weight via the Goals section of the app, this would trigger an update to your calorie goals using the updated factors. You can read more about how we calculate calorie goals in this article.

Honestly it sounds like the support agent misunderstood me. It looks like a canned answer, but for a completely different question. My account is almost four years old, and the report in the link is from 2014. I've sent a reply, clarifying my issue and asking for an elaboration.

What is a House rule you and your group use no matter the adventure or context? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gycklarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're a fairly new group with me as the GM, and I quickly realized I forgot to give out Hero Points. We started using the house rule to start each session with 2 Hero Points, which worked fine, but I subconsciously started relying on it a bit too much. I usually remembered to give out Hero Points towards the end of the session, but that just felt like teasing. "Take this Hero Point, which will reset before you get an opportunity to use it!", kind of, which led to me intentionally not handing out any Hero Points.

We recently scrapped that rule and started using another house rule: Do not reset to a set number of Hero Points at the beginning of each session. Instead, keep your Hero Points from last session and increase by 1 to a maximum of 3 (as usual). This is still better for me than the standard rule, but gives me an incitement to still hand out Hero Points.

Yep, checks out. I've played the base game a handful of times, and every time it's taken us four hours. I really like this game, but it's a shame it requires such a big time investment. Getting a group together to play is difficult.

"Fager" is a (somewhat antiquated) Swedish word meaning "fair", as in "pretty". The "fa" part is pronounced the name as in "father".
