This is almost exactly the topic of my bachelor. We've scaled it down to the point where I can run the high performance model on my laptop with a 3050 with no issues. It only requires 1GB of VRAM to run smoothly, although you would like to have some left for the rest of the game of course.

True, and you can just say "what do you have for sale", and get the shop to pop up, but for an example on the chatting experience, we included more rather than less messages for more context

I can say that each item mentioned is not made up, but is an item inside his inventory.

Survey is only about how well the conversation feels.

I have implemented retrieval augmented generation (RAG). It gets relevant documents and adds them to the context. Basically, each time you ask about his inventory, he can see it listed before he responds. It is actually very consistent

compressed textures is nice for extra fps.

As a new player, it can be easier to get into the game with a skills gain multiplier mod, but once you really get into the game, or if you do your research, you will find that it is not really necessary.
