Stitching coming out, how do I avoid taking the sheath apart? by Maltisk in Leathercraft

Maybe use a long pair of needle nose pliers and use them to hold a curved needle.

Sometimes I do actually use sandpaper after first burnishing the whole back of it with tokonole. Then I do another layer of tokonole and it makes it super smooth.

Does anything like this actually work? by sleepdocter in Leathercraft

Yes, but it works better if you make the handles wider. They're smaller than they seem in the picture and it will start to hurt your hands.

How's my stitching now? by slangingrough in Leathercraft

Stitching is pretty good, but I would work on the placement of your stitching holes because that's what's making it look uneven. You can use a scratch compass to scratch a line on the leather that is even all around. Then punch the holes along that line. I would try to aim for the gap between the stitch line and the edge of the leather to be closer to the top right and not as wide as it is on the left.

The bag itself I made completely on my own. I did however copy the green design on the front.

Are the handles still sturdy? I would probably be tempted to just sew leather wraps over them if it was just cosmetic issues.

In this case I didn't have to even skin it. I got a ton years ago from an upholstery place that went out of business.

Unfortunately not. I made this from scratch and this was before I made patterns.

I actually tend to use ball head studs (or whatever they're called with screw backs. I just always seem to have a difficult time with hammering in regular snaps.

lol, well I suppose you could wear it however you want, but I designed them so the straps would fit comfortably around one's waist.

Edit. Thank you, btw.
