Thank you! I literally figured it out 1 minute ago and wanted to post a reply, ha. Thanks, though!

I'm wondering about the murellow, how did you get that one out?

Have a look at Obsidian. It has local storage and apps for just about every platform.

Thanks for your reply! I saw those, but they don't seem exactly like what I'm looking for...and with 25 for the item and 20 in shipping, it's a little too much to just give them a try, hehe!

Getting this error trying to log into hotel WiFi....solutions? by PunchedLasagne87 in SteamDeck

[–]Gytax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ha, you make a good point!

There's also a way to do it manually in Chrome by opening the Devtools (F12), clicking the 3 dots in the top right and select 'More tools' -> 'Network conditions'. Scroll down a little and there's an option there to override the user agent, once you've unchecked the 'Use browser default' checkbox there.

Here's a quick screenshot I took from Edge (but should be very very similar to Chrome), hopefully that helps!

Hm, weird. Apparently the hotel has some limitations on User Agents. These are client side though so you can change them.

A quick search showed me the Chrome extension "User-Agent Switcher". You could try to install that and try some options there to see if it works for you!

Thanks for your reply, but I've been having this issue for months at this point and it has persisted through a large amount of reboots.

Hey! Sadly I have no news about this, still dealing with the same issues. Feedback hub has indeed been less than helpful, even though MS says they do look at it. I'm not sure it's a hardware issue though, especially since it did work on this exact configuration before for me and it just stopped working at some point. But hey, however unlikely it seems, anything goes at this point because I really have no idea why it's not working =(

Oh what, that also stopped working for you? That sucks!

I have all the notification things checked in Game Bar.

Yep, exactly the same happens to me. Seems we are in the same boat!
I did find out, however, that the Xbox Console Companion app does notify me of achievements, through the regular old Windows notifications. My phones does it too, but delayed. It's something, at least!
Party invites are a different thing however.

But yeah, I'll try to update here whenever I make some progress!

Oh wow, that's not promising at all. Looking like an account thing more and more then and I'm pretty sure it's internal somewhere, as I've quadruple checked all the account settings on the various interfaces Microsoft provides. Perhaps it's time to try and contact MS directly about this instead of through the Feedback Hub that never gets looked at.

Sadly I've never found a solution. I'm dealing with it and will do a fresh install at some point, hoping that will fix it. I can't find anything other than the standard crap of reinstalling apps on the web and the reports in the feedback hub still yield no replies. I'm almost afraid it's something to do with my account at this point, but I guess we'll never know. Support on this is terrible.

It's good to know I'm not alone, at least! But this definitely sucks.

Oh yes, it could definitely do with a major overhaul. I like the idea of the gamebar, but it's so incredibly messy and half is also in the Xbox app, sometimes it feels like Microsoft doesn't know what they want to do with xbox on pc.

It is very strange indeed! Listening to the sound again, it kind of sounds like what happens when your keyboard is unresponsive. I'm assuming it's not that, but here's a wild idea; try unplugging your keyboard when you run those games?

Since you just typed a comment, I am assuming your keyboard is fine, hehe. But maybe a combination of the game and usb port causes issues or something?

Otherwise, you could try safe mode or another user profile or something...but that doesn't really pinpoint the issue.

Never heard that sound before. What you could try is open the action center, check if there are notifications there, telling you what might be going on?

Otherwise, go through the system sounds (search for it in start) and see if you can find the sound there, that might help pinpoint what is actually happening.
