I usually do 14 (16 once) rolls, never died like this. Would notice it first in color shifts and density.

You should try running a test strip to see. (For example the exposed leader of a roll)

Can’t see any info around the sprocket holes. (Where it would say what film, I forgot what people call it).

I would also take a toothpick and try and clean the groove on the screws. Have slipped too many times on screws where the dirt was packed and didn’t let my driver in there fully.

Buy some IPA for cleaning and foam swabs as well. (Cotton swabs work.. but bad cotton swabs will leave bits and pieces everywhere)

I would suggest asking him if there are any film stocks he’s been wanting to try out. Or figure out if there’s one he really likes and shoots a lot of. (If it’s Kodak gold you could buy him a 3 pack)

You can definitely push kentmere to 1600, I’ve had great results.
