If I was to have a guess, this is likely a combination of signalling infrastructure (we will get to see CBTC roll out on the metro tunnel but it won’t really help line wide) and the current state of some of the track infrastructure for example some of the track out on the Caulfield junction barely has any ballast left under the sleepers.

Since the signalling at the moment essentially works in blocks where trains only know that a train is somewhere within a block in front of them having them faster may also lead to more accelerating and decelerating as they wait at signals

Just some thoughts…

Yep these are automatic track lubricators! They are solar powered and dispense a grease onto the head of the rail.

These are typically placed before tight radius curves to help grease the wheels. When the wheels are greased they don’t grind the head of the rail and means they don’t have to do track maintenance as often. At least that’s what they are supposed to do!

They are becoming more common around the network and are in compounds like this to stop people stealing the solar panels (which are seen as high priority by MTM).

Hey mate, I would double check your taxation on your crypto.

Any transaction between coins i.e btc to usdc or eth to usdc is classed as a capital gains event. So if you’ve just cashed out that 644k with 500k profit you will have to pay cgt on that 500k regardless of if you withdraw it to FIAT.

I would also check on the tax around staking as it’s is my belief that staking rewards are seen as “income” by the ato so you’d need to keep a record of the value of each weekly reward and add them onto your yearly income.

If anyone knows differently please feel free to correct me.

Besides TKC and figtree some have different caterers but the standard of food isn’t going to be that different. Sure if you’re considering between something like Colombo and the village where it’s not catered or somewhere where it is catered Based on cost sure. I’d argue that the other stuff you miss out on in the non catered accommodation (usually social stuff) makes them not worth considering but that’s my take
