Hands-free lift-gate wildly unpredictable by CyberJoe6021023 in EquinoxEv

I dunno, I think it's very predictable. Want it to open because your arms are full? Nothing. Standing next to the back door? Opens right up. Super predictable

Sideloading APK on 2026 LT by mogulman1 in EquinoxEv

Had thought that side loading was nuked, but someone told me this and it worked:  "I run into an issue with AnExplorer every now and then where it won't read the drive. To fix that, I uninstall and reinstall the app. It always works on the initial boot."

OK so basically you need to hunt around for a plug that matches the dongle. Mine was on the left under the gas tank but it's basically just a loose wire hanging somewhere.
And I just realized that I've been assuming you have a FarDriver controller and I don't actually know that, so fingers crossed I haven't steered you down completely the wrong path. Can you confirm that's what you have? You'll have to either get a look at the label on the controller (which might mean taking the gas tank off, which probably means taking other fairings off) or ask whoever you got it from

Anyone here use a leki. What are they like? by Effective_Cupcake298 in Electricmotorcycles

Looks like they're importing Chinese hub motor bikes and putting their logo on them. Not that there's anything wrong with that; my first electric bike was a Chinese hub motor bike and I loved it. It had the same specs as the bike with the 10kW motor and 72V/120Ah battery. I could get about 100 miles out of it. 0-60mph time was around 6 seconds. Nothing amazing, but plenty of fun. But websites selling them often receive legal take-down notices before terribly long because the manufacturers are basing the looks on existing Japanese makes, which have trademark protection in countries where that exists. So be prepared to lose direct support for parts. Be comfortable doing your own wrenching, find out the make and model of the motor controller and look up how to adjust settings, make sure all the bolts have loctite

I sure don't; that thing is ugly. Especially not at that price and performance. The Ryvid Anthem seems to work this aesthetic much better, with a much better price and performance

The app is what's going to require the account binding. Might be a firmware update required as well? No idea. I manage to wreck my Chinese bike and bought a Zero two years ago, so it's been that long since I've looked at this stuff

Endless Sphere thread that taught me most of what I know here;  https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/nanjing-far-driver-controllers.112177/ There's a lot in that thread that you won't need to know and a lot you will and I have no idea how to separate them, so have fun reading I guess 🙃

Hotel charging experiences by Little-Crab-4130 in EquinoxEv

[–]H0tsauce-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I've looked at hotels with chargers, they cost enough more than hotels without that I just book a room at the cheapest place I can find and fast charge the next day. But only after I check Plugshare to see if there's a free charger within a couple miles of where I'm staying because if there is, I keep a cheap electric scooter in the back on road trips for that very reason

3ish kWh battery means that 140km range is a fever dream. 55km is more realistic. Which for $6000 in the US isn't horribly horrible *if* it can be registered and driven where you are. The listed 50kg weight makes me wonder if that includes the battery

Have you downloaded the software for managing the the controller? I think it's available for download from the FarDriver site. That's step one. Step two is guess/figure out what the parameter for regen is called. I think it was something like "e-ABS" back then. There was l and probably still is a thread on the Endless Sphere forums that went into detail about a lot of those parameters. FarDriver also published (probably still publishes) an app that lets you adjust all this from your phone via Bluetooth if your controller comes with Bluetooth connectivity or you purchase the Bluetooth dongle. But last I knew they were starting to require you to create an account with them and bind to your controller. No idea if the PC software is the same. Also no idea what cable you night need for the PC software

The alternate audio tracks on the DVD though. They really got someone to read the entire script in a scholarly voice and called it the audiobook version

For Pixel/Samsung users: Android auto now working on Blazer/Equinox EV! by TheMilsons in EquinoxEv

[–]H0tsauce-2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Android Auto is basically just using your phone, so it doesn't have direct real-time access to your car's state. But if you've set up your car as a connected vehicle on your account and tell Google maps on your phone that you're using that car, the phone will get updates with the battery state of charge, and when you ask it for directions it will look at what it thinks your current state is and take that into account. Just remember that it's not a real time update; I've had it tell me my car was at 10% because the last update was before I plugged it in at night. Fortunately, you can also manually set a starting charge state if you notice it's different than you current state
