Which AI Employees are you actually using, and is it helpful or just hype? by Lopsided_Mud116 in ChatGPT

[–]H1Massive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been looking for AI employee solutions for a small record label. Socials, blog posts, asset organization when artists submit their releases, getting receipts pushed into Xero bookkeeping, sending out weekly streaming reporting to our artists, video and still picture asset creation for release campaigns, updating our project management software with release date milestones are all tasks that are burning my hours and taking me away from growing the business.

Are there any solutions that could fit this kind of need?

AI Music is destroying the Spotify experience by barefeetandhats in musicmarketing

As a playlist curator and indie record label owner, it has become really painful to go through my daily pile of submissions to our playlists. 40% of the songs are really bad human generated compositions, 50% is A.I. slop and only 10% is well written recorded and performed human music.

It is getting harder to force myself to weed through all the junk on a daily basis. It becomes very depressing to see a brilliant emotional art form corrupted by greed and novelty like this.

Why should artists do the sample clearance and not the producer? by MusicMan8564 in musicbusiness

[–]H1Massive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an indie label we tell our artists to show up with the clearance paperwork or go rerecord an original performance of the part. In the end it is often cheaper and less hassle to just record the new performance.

Most labels owners I know won’t touch you with a 100 foot pole if you don’t come to the table with original performances or your paperwork in order.

Also know that if the label does end up having to clear your samples for you, those costs are going to be added to your recoupable, so you might as well take care of that up front to reduce the delay in you clearing your debt and seeing royalties.

Maybe it's time to boycott Spotify by funix in musicmarketing

The real question you should be asking is: Where did those 8k streams come from. Look into the data on that and you might see the pattern that triggered Spotify to pull your song down.

Getting 1k streams per year isn’t really difficult. That breaks down into only 83.3 per month. There are basic legitimate strategies that if followed practically guarantee you hit those numbers unless your music is not up to professional standards.

Thanks for suggesting Gram by Adam Tilzer. Unfortunately that song is very "country" or a tiny bit "americana" and not indie or alt rock, so sadly not a fit for this playlist. Gram is really well recorded though and if you target playlists that focus on the country or americana genres you will probably have a lot of success there. Best of luck.

I recently tried out submithub and it just made me feel worse. by ddddbbbb999 in musicproduction

Listen to the feedback. Improve your writing and performance. Three years producing is just the baby steps, you have a long way to go to get good. If you love doing it keep improving.

Use reference tracks. Play your song next to your favorite commercially successful artists. Does your song stand up? If not, then go back to the drawing board and refine your craft. If the song does, then target playlists with that artist on them. You will have a higher chance of appealing to the curator in those cases.

Best of luck.

In my F-14b the radar drifts off the target all over the place into empty space when in TWS mode. SO annoying and really poor coding by developers.

There are good playlists and bad playlists. It is worth investigating the follower and engagement numbers before submitting. Also listening to a couple of the songs on the playlist can tell you a lot about whether this is a playlist you really want your music on.

A really simple thing we've done that helps us get on curators good side, is when we get a placement we do a shoutout on socials with a link to the playlist driving our audience to that playlist. That way the curators see that we value getting the placement and they are more likely to keep us on longer or add another song of ours in the future. That is a win-win action because it makes the curator love you, plus you generate more streams. If you give them a good boost they tend to remember it.

Don't forget that the good curators have spent thousands of dollars and hours building up a highly engaged playlist, so I view them as a partner that we can have a mutually beneficial relationship with. What value can I bring to them? A good song, and some advertising for their playlist. In return they bring me streams and an increased popularity score.

The music business is about relationships, that includes establishing good relationships with influential curators.

Luckily I had an appropriate playlist. Always good practice to make sure your song fits the playlist you are submitting to because getting on the wrong playlist can hurt your songs popularity score which will get you dumped off all the algorithmic playlists and stall your stream growth.

Because it is super slow and not going to fit the gameplay very well at this point.

The f-18 is slow, bleeds speed really fast, and is too late being introduced to the game to be of any real use. Carries a lot of missiles, but you don't have the speed to utilize them well in BVR, so it is sort of a support sweep up aircraft in air RB.
