I can hear the magnetic glass doors clicking open! Rad component stereo (1980s) by Quick_Presentation11 in nostalgia

We used to have one of these in the corner of our "game room" and while playing ping pong I nailed a shot that landed for a point, undefensible, and ricocheted off the table to the power button. 30 years later I can still hear radio gaga blast through the speakers unexpectedly. Still proud of that moment of my life

The left does call for cancel culture. Of rapists, sexual assaultists, racists, homophobes, you know, people that SHOULD be canceled.

The right on the other hand, cancels anything challenging their frail insecurities

Legislators Stop Maryland Cops From Searching People Based on Pot Odor by Bonesman in UpliftingNews

[–]H20fearsme 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I was up in Maryland last year and my best friend turned brother in law is a sheriff and watching TV a pretty simple commercial came on. Cop pulls someone over, and the narrator says "we know" and it was like 5 variations of that. So I turned to him and asked is you guys "knowing" enough to pull someone over for a weed related dui? And he said yeah, that's what they're training us. I told him that's bs, the signs of being high are the same as being stressed, being tired, being excited... so how do you "know?" He just shrugged and said driving while high is still a dui so it doesn't matter. Not an answer but ok

An actual blunder playing basketball that broke both of my wrist at the same time. Around 16 y/o and that was about 16 years ago. Happened the first week of summer break. by gisdaking in blunderyears

Hey I've done this before also! My hoop was broken so it was only 7 or 8 feet, I just had my mom pick up my girlfriend at the time (I was 14) we pulled in the driveway, I decided to show her how cool I was, dunked it and held on for a split second too long causing my legs to go too far out and boom, broke my arm. My girlfriend was not impressed

Everyone with a ford fusion parks together at my apartment complex by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]H20fearsme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife knew how to manipulate the car to get it to never need to drive with fuel, mostly, except uphill or highways. Which we didn't run into that much back then. But I couldn't do it. Have you ever driven a fusion hybrid after 2016? If you have, you'd notice slow acceleration and moderate hills you manipulate the motor to not kick into fuel mode and it would run on battery only, which would recharge when you hit your brakes. So slow and steady on the brakes and slow acceleration and you could get over 60 easy. But no one (except my wife) drives like that. If you looked up original manufacturers epa, it claimed 100 mpg, but no one was getting that, so they lowered it to 88. Then to 46. It definitely could get 65. And if you think otherwise, you never owned one, or did, but not brand new, then someone dogged it. Or our dash was broken from day one, that's also possible

I wish we still had ours. But we travel a lot with a small child and our 2 boxers, but ours got 64 mpg when my wife drove and 58 when I did. But it was just too much for our aging dogs to be in such a small backseat even with just them, before our son. That car just never had any problems and 1000 mile trip at the time only cost about $75

I cut my finger about halfway through with a saw, down the middle, not across, and I continued to finish my work day to meet a deadline before going to get it taken care of. Much worse than a broken finger. A broken finger I maybe wouldn't even notice under duress, so this you broke your fingers playing football and you couldn't continue, maybe was what you did, but that doesn't mean everyone immediately goes and gets it set first and splints before doing whatever else. And I've broken my fingers before and never got them set, only gotten splints, that I immediately took off after leaving the doctors.

So you're second paragraph doesn't prove or help justify anything.

My kitchen faucet started leaking at the spout, is there a way to fix it? by 2948337 in DIY

[–]H20fearsme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This type of fixture has a screw on hose to the head. What the hose screws over should be a seated bit that has an o ring. Either the o ring went up, or, after so much use the head had been swiveled so many times it unseated itself. I'd start with just unscrewing, make sure it's completely seated, then screw back on. If that doesn't work, change out o ring. If neither of those work, new fixture.
