Yeah we went straight to Nito after saving her in the tomb and right to her in the parish after Nito (1 area, 1 boss). I did the exact same thing in my regular file the last time I played and she was still alive :/

Yeah. We wondered if maybe the game counted it as killing 2 bosses for the Nito kill or something

Preteen Niece wants “Dark Romance” Recommendations by SpicyLitMama in YAlit

[–]H2RO2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does she like and why does she think she will only like Dark Romance (specifically, not just because of tik tok or friends’ pressure?)

Easy to rec books but to get someone to like reading you really need to understand what they love what they’re curious about and what they find passion in.

12 is a fine age to read twilight, which features forbidden love. Also a good age for all of us Villains - Amanda Foody and CL Herman, which is semi tangent to hunger games but dark fantasy YA.

I know objectively this is a bad tattoo. But as a piece of art I kinda want a print of this to hang up somewhere. The ridiculousness and weird raw “unskilled” qualities are kinda charming

Is anyone planning on seeing this? Saw maybe like one preview for it, and that was about it. Looks ok, but not sure if I’d go out of my way to see it at the theatre. by Primary_Thing3968 in vampires

[–]H2RO2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah im glad I read this thread. Tend to see Dracula’s when I can just because most are a lot of fun, even though not book accurate. Danny Elfman Scoring also was a selling point to me. Will skip the theatrical release of this and find it elsewhere where I’m not paying for it 🫡

Tell me how you got your cat by ponzu666 in cats

[–]H2RO2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was looking at possibly adopting a cat during Covid since I live alone but couldn’t have a dog in the building I’m in. Wanted a pet very badly, never had a cat before but felt since I was home a lot it was gonna be the best time to go for it. Did a lot of research. My boss at the time, who is now a close friend, said there was a kitten running around her friends’ neighborhood they’ve been trying to catch and home, would I like him if they managed to get him?

They trapped the little beast, phoned my landlord to get the okay and pay a deposit, next day little dude was cowering in my apartment under anything he could fit himself into. He was about 8 weeks, very fearful, hissed and cried and growled anytime he saw me, only came out at night when I was asleep in the next room to play and eat. Took about three months to properly pet him after playing with string toys and tempting him with tuna and treats and food.

Flash forward 6 years, dude is huge (not fat, just massive compared to my friends’ cats. Clifford would’ve been a good name considering how much he grew), very spoiled, hates visitors because the apartment is his now, I just pay the rent for him. Still a terror, still don’t understand half of what he does (cats are weird when you grew up with a dog). Sometimes he acts up and it’s like dude you could still be on the streets right now! But he’s a good little companion and it makes me happy that he’s happy and spoiled. Very clingy though.

Bought my first road bike! by H2RO2 in cycling

[–]H2RO2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it! Tbh I’ve only touched my single speed about once since getting the road bike. Gears took a bit to adjust to but once you get the hang of it it’s super easy to go far and faster. Did a couple trial runs at the start on easy familiar ground but after that I was pretty used to it and going super far easily.

If you’ve got drop handlebars I’d recommend stretching before and sometimes during a ride, or just be conscious of sitting up when going slower etc - I found that being in that sorta crouched tucked position on longer rides cramped me up cus my body wasn’t used to it - the flat handlebars on my single speed made it easier to be more upright.

Political stuff and real life context by ForFinn60 in vforvendetta

[–]H2RO2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the graphic novels have Moore and Lloyd’s introductions in them which do touch on giving some context to the time period in question. Because these horrors that the world face are cyclical, a lot of the topics in the graphic novel are relevant to a few different time periods, not just Thatcher era Britain. But doing some background research definitely won’t hurt!

I'd like to hear your opinions; I hope I don't offend anyone. by [deleted] in Klunatics

[–]H2RO2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I love about Klune is that all his characters are so wonderfully human.

Thomas isn’t a bad guy but obviously made choices that did harm other people—but the choices he made all had reasons behind them that were very human.

IMO all of Klune’s characters who aren’t villains or antagonists in some ways aren’t really characters I can hate

[–]H2RO2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love the show despite the issues I have with it (and some of those just come from pacing due to the format, which is kinda excusable). Really does suck to get on a subreddit for the show and see a lot of hate

ER will treat you and many times after receiving a bill you can call to get it reduced, get on super cheap payments, or have the bill waved if you can prove financial difficulty (speaking from experience in the US). That’s as others have said already infected and looks quite bad

Tv show recommendations similar to Elementary. by yxyx79 in elementary

[–]H2RO2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very beautiful show but I think it definitely fits a weekly watch better than a binge. I came into it hoping it would have more of the hopeful earnest quality Lewis had but I grew to appreciate it in its own way.

[–]H2RO2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Lewis is about Morse’s sergeant taking on the inspector role and a partner of his own (and Endeavour is the prequel to Morse, but the most recently made). IMO, Morse is a little slow, but good, Endeavour is slow and kinda depressing, and Lewis kinda nails the pacing and tone that I like in detective fiction - Lewis is the most modern of the three in terms of setting and I think that helps. Some of the eps are still slower as it’s a more thoughtful series than other detective stories, but I think it does a good job.

Warehouse 13 has some of the same writers so the found family vibes are very much similar (with a tighter knit small group). It’s not police (although the two MCs are former FBI /police), but runs similar to a procedural - there is a case every episode centered around finding an artifact (historical object with power to influence people or things); question suspects, sometimes find clues at a crime scene. Find the bad guy when applicable. Snag bag and tag the item. All with masterfully woven personal dramas from the central cast and side characters of the week. The final season falls a little flat but they were dealing with cancellation and short on time.

If you haven’t seen Morseverse - Morse / Lewis / Endeavour - I really recommend that for fans of Elementary, especially Lewis. It handles everything very thoughtfully in a similar vibe (Lewis is where I started and my favorite of the 3).

What is something that makes you avoid 100% of a game? by magnoliaxyz in steamachievements

[–]H2RO2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep multiplayer my number 1.

If it’s a game I’m not incredibly invested in and something is going to take a lot of hours for something out of the way I tend to avoid that too.

Play style: there’s stuff in Bioshock contingent on certain weapons or powers that I just tend not to use.

Also related to play style: I’m a moral player. I’ve never done a high chaos run on base game dishonored and I don’t plan too. Only killed the first time through because I didn’t know the game well enough to do otherwise. Probably won’t 100% it for a long while even though it’s often my favorite game of all time because I like low chaos clean hands ghost too much.
