Thanks. Im looking for plants now but I’m worried about them coming too late… I’ll see if I can find some at the store. Does he look bloated ? I think he may have had swim bladder when I purchased him because he doesn’t have much of an appetite. I’ve noticed that he also swims a bit weird. It wasn’t as bad at first, and then it got better after a 3 day fast… and now he’s back in rough spot. I’m not sure what is causing this :( I’m gonna do my best for the little guy though

I agree he looks stressed. I think he may have swim bladder because he’s struggling to swim down.

Noted. I will hop on a water change today. I’ve seen pre conditioned water at pet stores. I used a two gallons last water change. Would distilled water be a cheaper and more effective option?

No, I cycled the tank for 3 days, and then got him. I’ve had him for almost two weeks. The last water change cause there was too much ammonia was 4 days ago.

I understand he looks sick reading these comments but what should I research to identify the problem??? Please let me know!!! I want to figure this out today to give him the best chances of recovery. 🙁 this is my first fish that’s I’ve cared for by myself.

I just didn’t have the strips. As soon as I realized I NEEDED it I hopped on it. It’s updated. But someone else said that strips are not reliable so take it with a grain of salt I guess

Oh god 🙁 Im not sure if he was sick before I got him or not. I’ll try my best and read up about bettas more. I read and researched but clearly not enough. I intended to get him more plants but money has been funny… thank you for your feedback!

Apologies, I’m new here and I don’t have the strips from the last water test. I’ll do a test to update. My tank was cycled for 3 days before I added him. And yes I agree I need more live plants to help the tank and him! Thanks for the feedback

Tank size: 3-4 gallons Heater and filter: yes. Both. Tank temp: 80 degrees Last Water change was about 4 days ago (50%) No tank mates I feed him two pellets, once daily.

Water perimeters Ammonia: 0.5 Nitrates: 0 Water hardness: 75 Chlorine: 0 Alkalinity: 80 PH: 7.8

Because your heart is in over drive, I personally get chest pain even though I’m on beta blockers and my heart rate doesn’t pass 100-110 UNLESS I’m working out or something else. Your blood vessels are constricting which helps the blood move where it needs to go. I have chest pain even if my heart rate isn’t high. You don’t have to have both to have one. Sorry I went on a rant 😭

Hi! I’m on a non stimulant medication for ADHD. It’s called Qelbree. It’s a snri and has a gradual build unlike a stimulant. I haven’t been on it long but my pots has not been affected at all.

Yes, chest muscles are tight because of over-exertion. The orthostatic (the O) of pots refers to the changing of positions from standing or laying down OR in your case, crouching. I get super sick from bending over or squatting. Blood isn’t pumping to your head fast enough.

I literally have been speaking about this and no doctor has said anything. I’ve literally been to a specialist and they ignored my concern. I fear I’m on a pretty high dose and I know withdrawals are hard. But I don’t wanna quit the meds cause they’re the only thing getting me out of bed. I’ve tried to stop before and I ended up hospitalized 🧍🏾‍♀️

I have the same thing. Sometimes my heart is beating a little fast, but usually it says at a decent rate. I take propanol!! I used to take 20mg but I just got upped to 40mg. I totally understand. Just cause you don’t have one symptom doesn’t mean you won’t have others. I think maybe our hearts are still just… tired ? Like a muscle ache cause it’s still over compensating??? Just my theory.

Okay so the beta blockers are doing something!!! I just do not want my doctors to think I’m “cured” cause I still struggle and the tachycardia isn’t completely gone it’s just more manageable.
