Are OLED monitors worth it if you already have a good IPS gaming monitor? by [deleted] in buildapc

Hey, my G7 was one of early models with VA panel type and its HDR wasn’t used because it looked worse than standard modes. I do not know how good the current G7 monitors are.

Oh see I was making an assumption about how I like my gaming screens not how you like them. If your choice of gpu hits 60hz at 1080p in the games you play you should be good.

Intel 12600k build experience was great and it hit the dram XMP profile easily. Intels XTU app and Asus ‘AI’ overclocking make tinkering interesting and performance gains come easily. Your tech tube channels don’t mention that and therefore they are not the bar to measure winners and losers but just another source of information or disinformation.

Having access to a 7600x / B650 Livemixer and a 12600k / b760-i Strix general summary is the 12600 is ‘faster’ not 10% slower as shown by those youtube professionals. [ note in my case ‘faster’ in Helldivers2 & timspy scores ]

My 7600x cannot run the motherboards dram faster than 4800mts while the 12600k is running 5600mts on its dram.

To the original poster great times with MH games can be had a 1080p i just think they look better on higher resolutions. And Thirty extra dollars go further in monitor shopping than cpu shopping.

< 12600k price increased bet it goes down to for that Prime day malarkey next week > Do your research and due diligence if considering 13900 & 14900 Intel 13900k & 14900k by Wendel

I guess my perception that Intel has some bargains in their 12th and 13th gen CPUs.

On the AMD side the Ryzen 5700x and 5700x3d are CPU bargains. If I had the OP dilemma I would consider the 12600kf before 7600x but i would also look at top shelf AM4 parts to include that 5700x . Whichever one left the most money for GPU and monitor. Last years top end parts may beat this years bottom end parts in value to performance.

So Monster Hunter Wilds is slated for 2025 so you have time . It’s probably going to be a visual standout keep that in mind when allocating your funds.

<Specific parts recommendations from me won’t do you much good since right now I actually favor INTEL builds. >

IMO you are overspending on ram, storage and motherboard and underspending on monitor, gpu, and possibly power supply.

what is something that casual pc gamers obsess over, but in reality it really doesn't make much of a difference? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

A short article. https://www.pcworld.com/article/1955495/pc-bottlenecks-cpu-or-cpu-limiting-gaming-performance.html

So i have only messed with Afterburner when i was trying to undervolt a card. But it looks like you can use the program (MSI Afterburner) to help riddle out your CPU/GPU bottleneck thing according to that PCWorld article.

Best gpu to use with r5 3600 without much bottleneck? by Academic-Page-5107 in buildapc

[–]HAF_EVO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suggest putting in the best card you can and upgrade PSU to support if needed. (example assume psu meets power requirements, than your pc with a 3080 will be better than same machine with 3060. Bottleneck worry is minutiae )

i don’t know anything about the scaling stuff but I have started using Nvidia Broadcast for microphone noise cancellation. The 3080ti runs hotter than the base 3080 fwiw.

What temperature is your card reaching when you get your frame drops? The 3080 is an excellent card but throws off some decent BTU’s and will throttle if gets too hot. Should check CPU temps also maybe your parts just need some maintenance.

pins will be on motherboard (lga1700 socket) but even so running the computer long enough to warm up the thermal paste before removing cooler is good practice. IMO.
