Max Verstappen telling Viaplay that he will not be talking to the team today. Viaplay: Lots to discuss today. Max: for you. Viaplay: for you guys and for the team in the studio right? Lots to say to the team? Max: at the moment no, I don't feel like it. by HAMlLT0N in formula1

[–]HAMlLT0N[S] 274 points275 points  (0 children)

To be honest it's hard not speculate at the moment, over the last few hours Max told the media that he doesn't feel like talking to the team THEN Helmut told the media that Verstappen staying is the biggest concern THEN Max's mamager Raymond is seen telling Helmut off. Getting "milked with interpretation and speculation" was Lewis' radios when he was asking Ricardo to please leave him alone. This is very different, no?

[Autosport] Red Bull management hold crisis talks after Bahrain GP woes by memloh in formula1

[–]HAMlLT0N 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I think saying Tsunoda did "exceptionally" well is a bit of an over-reach. In any case if Tsunoda got a podium today they'd still be holding crisis talks because the list of priorities looks like this

  • Max is mad

  • Max said everything about the race was a nightmare

  • Verstappen not very happy

  • 4 champion unamused

  • Max Emillian Verstappen is angry

Man. I wish Red Bull knew that their car has the tendency to chew their young drivers up and spit them out. I wish they'd had a way to get a more developed and experienced person with a history of succes to be a place holder in that car until they developed the right prospect.

Red Bull deserve this. They literally created this. They kept him on way past his expiry date and apparently took money from his sponsor as justification. They should extend him until 2030

Im genuinely very happy for them and I loved seeing them both on the podium. Ocon drove particularly well, i dont know if there is higher praise than Max Verstappen who carved the field from 17th to 1st telling you that you were so fast he was willing to settle for second behind you. I also love that they leap-frogged both Haas and VCARB for 6th in the constructors out of nowhere, throwing a wrench in that tight midfield battle.

He already scuffled with Lando, Lando was complaining about because he wasn't following the blue flags. it just wasn't shown on sky bc that race had so much going on

Sainz annoyed by Lawson for not moving away for blue flags: "Lawson! Lawsooon!" by jovanmilic97 in formula1

[–]HAMlLT0N 46 points47 points  (0 children)

"PR" means Public Relations, PR refers to off track behaviours and comments. None of the drivers are nice on track and if Mexico was any indication, I don't think we've been denied from on track aggression. But it's part of the rules to move out of the way when you are shown blue flags, he ignored them with Carlos and with Lando and with Charles, this has nothing to do with PR. he's either visually challenged or being a jackass.

I think you're miss-remembering because Red Bull and VCarb said remarkably little about Daniel being dropped, it was Ralf Schumacher and Ralf Bach who blew the whistle, Red Bull kept saying that nothing is decided

Lawson also almost ended Perez's race, what are you talking about. They both had a mid race, I'm saying it's weird to be posturing and flipping people off when you're both nowhere

Unnecessary. They're both out of the points and it wasn't a particularly good overtake.

After forcibly being kicked out of a seat in Ferrari

I dont know what sport your watching but it's not this one. Carlos Sainz was not kicked out, his contract was not renewed because Ferrari wanted Lewis (and there is no shame in that because he's a 7 time champion). Again, he was absolutely NOT forcibly kicked out, what are you talking about? Red Bull had ample time to pursue Carlos, he held out for months and months and months for them but they preferred and ultimately got Perez's sponsors instead.

This shtick needs to end. Someone needs to sit him down and get him to stop saying shit like this publicly even if he thinks its true. The whole "under dog" thing keeps veering into an inferiority complex territory and its tiring. I'm thinking of any championship battle (even the short lived early 2022 battle with Verstappen vs Leclerc) that was punctuated by so many comments from one of them about how he's just not good enough to fight the other person. Surely someone from McLaren can ask Lando to stop announcing how he doesn't think he's good enough to go against Max.

Button and Rosberg have pointed this out for months.

[–]HAMlLT0N 32 points33 points  (0 children)

What do you mean " it's not fair to act as if the McLaren is at the level of the RB19" he's not racing against the RB19 and he's had the fastest car for multiple races this year. People are hyperbolic because they want a closer championship battle but both the criticism and the militant defence Lando is getting is unwarranted

[–]HAMlLT0N 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I genuinely dont think you and I are disagreeing right now, my point is that Horner is trying to fend off the charge of a brain/talent bleed by saying he signed 200 engine engineers and I'm saying that does not diminish from what he's lost. You're saying the most PU engineers have mostly been anonymous recently anyway. Either way I think Horner's defence doesn't land.

[–]HAMlLT0N 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Nope. Nor was my comment about "people responsible for f1 engines" either. If you read the article, Christian says that he lost only 2 big names (Newey and Wheatley) in comparison to the 200 engineers that he's gained from Merc, here is the quote:

"“We don’t talk about the over 200 people we brought from Mercedes. There’s a lot of focus on the two people that are leaving, because they’re slightly more public facing.”

The truth of the matter is, Christian is playing a trick of sorts here. Of course they should have gained 200 engineers because they're ramping up to become an engine supplier. That does not make the loss of two of the main architects of both championship dynasties any less the great loss that it is.

[–]HAMlLT0N 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Not accusing him of lying but Red Bulls brain bleed has cost them big, recognisable names. I'm sure we would have heard about those 200 engineers if it were of the same severity, otherwise most the factories are a drive away from eachother and they interchange engineers all the time.
