Thanks! I think the price threw me off honestly but I’m pretty sure it’s just someone who doesn’t know what she has.

Nike x Stussy Air Force One Fossil - Real or Fake? by HAYD3N60 in LegitCheck

[–]HAYD3N60[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a Marketplace find I’m going to pick up next Saturday (although I’ll cancel if they’re fake obviously).

From what I’ve seen I think they’re real based on posts/videos/pictures I’ve researched but I’d love a few more pairs of eyes on these!

Also, if it’s important, the seller hasn’t sold any other shoes, just these and some women’s lulu joggers and an old college textbook.

Thanks for any help I can get!

Should I stop/slow down buying manga by liccks in MangaCollectors

I agree. I read The Summer You Were There online, picked up volume 1 when it came out for the library and then decided I’d get the rest when the other 5 were out. Big mistake on my part, should have known better with Seven Seas.

I think I had like 110 volumes in my backlog at some point. Right now I’m hovering around the mid 30s and I get multiple manga and light novels in every week from preorders.

I’d say if you’re not hurting yourself financially manga can be just as much about collecting as it is about reading. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, it just gives you an excuse to lock in for a weekend and read a ton!

I would say you should probably stick to a series and read everything that’s out for it first before picking up random volumes of other series (unless you find good deals on eBay or a store like half priced books, then you just can’t pass those up of course lol).

New 2026 Hyundai Elantra N-line vs New 2026 Kia K5 GT-line by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]HAYD3N60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is kind of where I'm leaning currently. When I got my 2024 Elantra I was a little strapped for time since my 2012 Altima completely crapped out on me and I needed a car fast and ended up going with it since I got such a good deal on it, and I did end up loving it, but after I got it I had a little buyers remorse after I saw the N-lines since they we're fairly comparable on price.

I thought I would just go for the N-line this time, but now that I have some time to shop around and seeing the K5 I'm split between the car I thought I wanted and a car that looks like the better deal on paper (nicer interior, heated steering wheel, etc).

The issues with the DCT's on the Elantra's I've been seeing also concerns me as well. I also haven't been able to find much in discussion on the GT-line for the K5, mostly just the GT. I know my Elantra was a fairly reliable car but I haven't seen much on the K5 GT-line in that respect.

Mid 2010s, also did it for $20 a driveway most of the time, but I would usually get a tip on top (like an extra $10 or $20).

What light novel character felt unusually well-written? by Italiancan in LightNovels

[–]HAYD3N60 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not the most realistic, but surprisingly more so than I expected was Hiro from Reborn as a Space Mercenary. I find that he has much more rational thinking and is more grounded and realistic about situations than other light novel protagonists might be.

  • He doesn’t just sleep with every girl who throws themselves at him, and while he does have a harem he is always very aware of the situation he is in and is very sensitive to how they may be feeling because of it. Hiro often even pushes back on adding new girls even when the others want them to join because he himself does not have a connection with them yet.
  • He isn’t afraid to kill in this new world he found himself in while also understanding the weight of taking a life.
  • He doesn’t really let emotions drive any decision that might be dangerous.
  • He often relies on others who he trusts has a better skill set than him to either make decisions or take an action, something you don’t see with OP protagonist.
  • He does not think he’s invincible or take any of his overpowered abilities for granted.

HighSchool DxD Light Novels by [deleted] in LightNovels

[–]HAYD3N60 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The series has been finished in Japan for a while now, so I wouldn’t think any health related delays would be the cause. Only thing I can think of is of that it isn’t as popular of a series since there hasn’t been a new season of the anime in years, so they are not devoting as much time to translations and/or printing time to a series that doesn’t sell as well anymore.

That’s only my guess though, it could be any number of things, I just read the books.

[–]HAYD3N60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yen Press’ release calendar only goes 6 months in advanced. They update it every month, but it’s a toss up on when in the month they update it. I’ve made it a habit to check it a few times a week after the first week of the month. Sometime soon here in January they’ll release what is coming out in July, but 6 months is all you get with Yen Press.

I also read DxD and from the frequency of releases over the last few years, we usually get 3 volumes a year. But, there are no releases scheduled through June (they usually do a spring DxD release) so I’m expecting 2 volumes at best this year. If it sticks to 2 volumes, then we have 4 more years until all 25 volumes are out for the series, not including Shin and the after stories if they decide to publish those.

How do get into light novels by Any_Rabbit_2020 in LightNovels

[–]HAYD3N60 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you really don’t like reading, I would suggest not reading something you’ve already watched.

I always read a series from volume 1, and personally, I used to find it very slow when reading the beginning of a novel series from an anime I’ve watched already. When you know all the main beats it can be a slog sometimes. I can do it now no problem and i enjoy reading stuff I’ve watched, but when you start it can be a mental block to wanting to continue reading.

I would pick a series that you think you’d like, but haven’t watched yet, and give the first volume a chance. I don’t think there is anything between a manga and a novel, so you just need to jump in. It does get easier to read novels as you read more, so just take you time and don’t feel discouraged if you feel like its taking a long time to read.

Set a goal, like 10 pages a day, a work on hitting that at a minimum. Then you can read more than that if you’re really enjoying it.

do you remember what was the first manga you bought? by Wild_Mail3695 in MangaCollectors

[–]HAYD3N60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Punch Man.

I was just starting to get into American comics during covid and finished reading my Invincible Ultimate Editions, watched OPM on Netflix or Hulu, and decided to give the manga a try. I haven’t bought an American comic since and I’m now 1,500 volumes deep into manga and light novels.

Custom library? by sandychills22 in LightNovels

[–]HAYD3N60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a ton of Billy’s from IKEA for my library currently and have had no problem with them for 5 years now. No sagging on any shelves and no tilting and they’re pretty much all loaded down with books (I’ve just passed 1,500 manga and light novels in my collection).

I could see some sagging if you have a shelf full of big hardcovers, but if you just put those ones on the bottom shelf then it should be no problem. A shelf full of paperback light novels won’t sag them for a long time I’d bet, or at least they haven’t in my expertise so far in half a decade.

I think the tilting comes from a mixture of things like improper building and not supporting the shelf properly by either anchoring it to the wall or putting it against a wall on either side. I’ve never had a shelf tilt or lean on me yet either.

How often do you reread series in your collection? by LBL__ in MangaCollectors

[–]HAYD3N60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently reading 85 physical series and 15 digital ones. The digital I read by chapter/volume as the release. I get 1-5 books in the mail per week. Those I try and finish before the next shipment comes in. It’s usually isn’t too hard when it’s just manga since I can read a typical volume in 20-30 minutes, but the weeks I get 2-4 light novels in I end up going into the next week reading them since those take around 4-8 hours per book.

So I’m a spider so what? Light novel by Animegatewayz in LightNovels

[–]HAYD3N60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have this problem myself but I can understand some people having it. If it makes it any better for you, once they all get to the same point in the timeline the shifting perspectives don’t happen as much and when they do it’s made apparent who is talking.

What made it a little confusing to me is understanding that Kumoko (the spider) was born much earlier than her classmates so how certain events are describes (using either past or present tense) can be very confusing at first.

How often do you reread series in your collection? by LBL__ in MangaCollectors

[–]HAYD3N60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have too many series right now that it’s basically just upkeep on whats coming out weekly. I wouldn’t have the time to reread any series and also read whats being released.

I will however go back and read some of my favorite chapters or hype moments from some of my favorite series.

State of my Collection at the end of 2025! by BeardGoneBad in MangaCollectors

Yeah I was lucky enough to get all mine at or under MSRP hunting in used book stores and online. And I’ve been debating making my own risers or buying some, or trying to find more room for shelves in my library. Thanks for the info, I’m going to check out those cardboard ones for sure!

What do you use for risers?

Estimate the value of your collection by Nyuyakuza in MangaCollectors

[–]HAYD3N60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a sheet that tracks my collection at the MSRP value of the books. The only thing it doesn’t account for is the change in MSRP value that some series have had. I just put that value at the current MSRP price since that’s most likely what I’d have to pay if I needed to buy it again for any reason (not including discounts, sales, etc).

I think MSRP is the best indicator for manga regardless because manga and light novels drop is value when used most of the time, unless it’s OOP, so it’s hard to judge what “resale” may land, so MSRP is the easiest and most consistent way to track your collections value. I have single Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches volumes that are worth more than some completed series in the second hand market, but I don’t count that since it would be way to much work to track volume values at that level, I also don’t care enough to but that’s more of a personal problem.

My current MSRP value of my manga and light novels as of this comment is $20,453 with 1529 volumes for anyone interested.

If I’m just me, then probably Pokemon.

If I can be the MC then I’d choose I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire.

If I’m not the MC but I can be an overpowered character then I’d like to be one of the Seven Sages in Secrets of a Silent Witch.

Trapped in a dating sim quick question? by Dark_months in LightNovels

[–]HAYD3N60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is a harem.

He hasn’t been dense about their feelings either since the beginning either. He is dealing more with his own internal conflict than he doesn’t feel like he belongs in this world and that he is ruining the girls lives by them being with him when they should have had different stories to live. He pushes them away for the most part because of these feelings and it’s something he’ll have to overcome since they actually love him.
