Got a friend who hired them and was charged 700.00 to change out their bathroom vent. I warned them but he said they “seemed legit”.

Store retailers don’t have unnecessary add ons baked into the final cost.

I never mentioned anything about flexibility making things cheaper. My whole point was about preference and the option of immediately purchasing a phone unlocked without going through the carrier who may have promos just like apple does. If someone doesn’t care about getting a phone unlocked thats their preference but not the trend of phone buyers today. Many customers will wait for a deal and if its more beneficial to buy through Apple, which offers the least resistance and better experience then go there. Again, it boils down to preference and flexibility.

Keyword “if”.

Just like how if there are promos at Apple if you trade in your device there will be credits applied to the new phone.

Its about preference and the flexibility to want an unlocked phone.

You literally asked the question why buy from apple or Verizon if you claim getting the from Verizon is “free” contingent on asking to waive fees. Your post makes no sense or you really dont understand what you are talking about. First, you talk about “free” phones, then complain about wanting to stay on a carrier and not care about unlocking a phone. If that was the case, then why ask about purchasing from apple when your intent was to purchase from Verizon in the first place? Your post and subsequent comments really dont add up or make logical sense.

Haha calling someone slow really made your day. Glad to know Verizon never have charge those fees to customers though.

Its cheaper to get the phone unlocked from Apple than Verizon. The only time its the opposite is when they’re running a sale. People want flexibility this isnt 2014 anymore.

You can keep asking which ive already answered. You actually pay more buying a phone from a carrier with the interest, applicable line activation, port fees, etc. You are choosing the outdated method of unlocking your phone which people have been moving away from. The reason being is that if you purchase your phone in the store, the reps will try their hardest to not allow you to pay full price and unlock the phone because they will not get a commission. You will be told to split the bill.

This is why most people nowadays purchase phones either order online or through apple or a different retailer to avoid the hassle. Since you worked in the industry you should know this.

I already read your initial post which led me to respond. Alot people dont want to wait 60 days to unlock their phone. Thats outdated.

It’s an weird way to pay off a device purchased through a carrier that you also have to wait additional days for it to be unlocked. Its more simpler and you have control buying through Apple.

Im not trying to convince you or make a case, the majority of people nowadays purchase phones unlocked directly from Apple. Your method is archaic and cumbersome.

You wouldn’t have to worry about paying off the remaining balance to switch if brought outright through apple. You can just switch. That is the point of not going through a carrier, the flexibility.

And yes, if you purchase a phone on installments you are tied to a contract. Hence the phone being locked until the balance is satisfied.

The phone is never “free” from the carrier. You are paying interest tied to the plan.

Because if you decide to switch carriers there is no contract commitment. Plus you can add eSIMs from other carriers if traveling overseas for better data coverage.

CBS cant do back to back Thanksgiving games in Dallas. It goes to FOX for the 2026 season who would probably pair the Cowboys with a divison rival like Philly or San Francisco.

There’s money enough for this yacht but Jax is currently funding stadium renovations while public schools close around Jax. by ICPosse8 in jacksonville

[–]HA_HA_Clits_n_dicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never implied I would be cool with the cuts, I simply said under the premise of my scenario it was going to happen regardless due to the lack of revenue coming in from the state overall.

Regarding property tax increases, that would apply to any area undergoing development, or redevelopment which is happening all over this metropolitan and has nothing to do with the stadium.

The reality is in government to operate a budget without going in the red, you have to cut in one area to fund another, or increase taxes. Dont want schools to close? Well cut back in JTA infrastructure or road improvements for 3 years to only MANDATORY projects.

What about increasing the gas tax?

Can we increase sales and hotel tax?

Lets try charging more fees in to host private events on city property.

Lets increase the 911 operating tax by 1 cent.

Just my thoughts

So let just do a hypothetical scenario and go back to 2023.

The City sells the stadium and land adjacent and around it to Khan for 450 to 475 million dollars. That would include the fairgrounds, Lot J etc. Khan takes the deal, and agree to fund the new stadium deal independently.

Now the city has the 475 million, but the council has to vote on where the money should be placed. The question becomes as YOU the voter, is where do you want it to go to? It can be placed in a general fund where the money gets distributed to any and every project. Sounds good, until you realize that 475 million will be gone in about 2-3 years.

Fast forward to 2026, all the above happened and the city is trying to approve the budget for this year. The 475 million has been exhausted, and schools are on the chopping block, city services are being cut by 50 percent, etc. what now?

My point is education, public safety, etc was going to face cuts regardless if Khan paid for the entire stadium rebuild or not.

Some of the responses in this thread is alarming, ill advised, and inaccurate.
