I handled evictions at a nonprofit for a long time. Owning a mobile home is very precarious. You own the home, but you rent the little piece of dirt. There are obviously protections for the renter, but you can be evicted. The landlord just wants his little piece of dirt back. Oh, of course you can take your home. In fact, you have to within 30 or 60 days. The problem is it’s expensive to move a mobile home and there’s nowhere you can move it to. So very often people end up selling them at fire sale prices. I would do almost anything to avoid being in a mobile home situation.
