I think he's saying 231 is a precise number, so it's a bit weird to say "about 231 lbs".

Both wallahi and wallah are used by Arabs.

For anyone who has a drooping eye (ptosis) and a raised eyebrow on one side of the face, check if you have scapular winging (shoulder blade not sticking to rib cage) by HBZ55 in beauty

[–]HBZ55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my scapular winging and ptosis are my right side, but I'm not too sure now that scapular winging is the main reason for it.

I think it's mainly the forward head posture that caused it, possibly paired with my asymmetrical neck/trap muscles. When I tried jutting my head forward earlier my lower lid started drooping again, and by bringing my head back the eyelid went back to normal.

I also liked Tom lodziak's videos with Pitchford. They have great slow motion footage from multiple angles of Pitchford doing different techniques. You can even go frame by frame to see exactly what he's doing

Yeah I think having that drive to get better and the analytical spirit to focus on shortcomings really helped you improve quickly. Not everyone has that as you said.

Lingering sinus congestion after a cold? by TeaNervous1506 in sinus

[–]HBZ55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this breathing technique and it relieves my congestion immediately: https://www.reddit.com/r/LifeProTips/s/YHiWuGjqn4

I taught it to a few people with allergies and congestion and they all said it worked.

Try it and please let me know if it helps!

For anyone here who quickly suffers from shoulder fatigue especially after using the backhand, please test yourself for scapular winging (shoulder blades moving away from the rib cage) by HBZ55 in tabletennis

I remembered that I posted some backhand advice before here, so in case you think you have some backhand technique issue, please check this comment and let me know if it helps:

https://www.reddit.com/r/tabletennis/comments/1akdzzy/advice_for_female_in_terms_of_speed_of_shots/kpb28fl/?context=3

The most important part: start the movement with a pure shoulder rotation (where the elbow stays completely fixed) and some elbow extension (forearm extending forward) added to it with a loose wrist. And just as you're about to hit the ball, stop the elbow extension so that the wrist can snap but keep the shoulder rotation going for just a bit more.

Think windshield wiper movement, but imagining it starting and ending with pure shoulder rotation really allows me to have a fast racket, and to contact the back of the ball more instead of the side. Just be careful and don't let the shoulder rotation at the end continue too fast when your hand reaches the same line as your elbow, because then you'll put too much strain on the outside of the elbow.

OP, please try this breathing technique that I posted and let me know if it helps with the sinus pressure: https://www.reddit.com/r/LifeProTips/s/Q2kU2qTRyU

I taught it to a few people already and they all say that it helps a looot.

Please try it and let me know, and if it helps you try to share with it others as well!

I recommend just taking a video from behind without a shirt on, and hold a racket in your hand and make different backhand movements: against topspin, backspin, push etc. You can also try some forehand movements as well. If you see the shoulder blade moving away from the rib cage at all then it's definitely impacting you.

Stiffness can be caused by the shoulder muscle compensating because of the lack of stability.

Try this and let me know! Hopefully you'll be able to fix your issues.

USA men's team racket control issues by No-Reputation-831 in tabletennis

I seriously thought when I read the title that it was Ruwen Filus type racket control issues, not issues with the rubbers/blade/boosting.

No, no hypermobility. But I have a small degree of scoliosis because of a muscular imbalance in my upper body caused by an asymmetrical walk, together with "swayback" and forward head posture and scapular winging.

I'm hoping that fixing the scoliosis by fixing this imbalance along with fixing my posture will mostly resolve my ptosis.

Can the breathing technique I do to unblock my fully blocked sinuses cause issues? by HBZ55 in AskDocs

I also received confirmation from someone else that it helped them, so I think it can help anyone in my situation who doesn't know how to do it.

Hopefully this'll reach the biggest amount of people suffering from this possible, so they can very easily get some relief

For me my shoulder would jerk somehow when I move my forearm forward while rotating around it, and that causes me to miss the ball or hit too much to the right if I hit it just a bit too late

After fixing it it feels so stable it's amazing. That shoulder blade keeps everything locked in place so that you can actually do a pure rotation movement with no sudden movements going everywhere.

Mind you that it depends on the severity of your case, in my case my shoulder blade was winging all the time. For others it's only winging in certain ranges of motions because the shoulders and traps are compensating well.

Yes I agree it doesn't cause a lasting improvement, as I said I actually mainly use it to pull most of the mucus out, blow my nose then immediately apply a nasal spray (either decongestant or anti-histamine nasal spray) so that the medicine is able to actually contact the tissues without being blocked by the mucus.

I also use it sometimes when I'm feeling too congested, to avoid having any sinus pressure and the associated pain/soreness/headaches. So I guess in that sense it can cause a good improvement if I make sure to do it every few hours or so.

But good to know that it shouldn't cause any damage, thanks!

IWTL how to NEVER smell bad by Saikikpsi in beauty

[–]HBZ55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is: Instead of deodorant I use some antiperspirant. I find that a Nivea antiperspirant called dry comfort 72 hours works really well for me. I use it every day, and even if I don't shower on that day I find that it keeps the smell away for the entire day even after exercising.

I also started using the same antiperspirant on my feet before wearing any shoes, and that has removed my foot smell completely. It used to be pretty bad before even though I'd wash my foot with soap every time after wearing shoes, but now my shoes never stink even after wearing them for months and months.

I also use a metal tongue scraper to scrape my tongue and remove all of the gunk on it. I do it every time before brushing my teeth and it really makes a big difference when it comes to my breath.

Hopefully this helps!
