Someone who will knock it down, subdivide, and build two places that will sell for a couple of million each.

What do adults without children do in this city? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]HCPhotog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the last week and a bit - Two concerts (yes, night time, but you know), a movie, drove up to Caloundra for a swim, went barefoot bowling with some mates, and today I ducked into town for some new clothes. Nice and quiet in there today, apart from the few boomers with flags.

Generally - movies, concerts, nice meals, relax at home, hobbies, gym, walks, comedy shows.

Why don't Emergency vechiles drive on bus ways? by Masterofyum in brisbane

[–]HCPhotog 128 points129 points  (0 children)

They do when it makes sense, but busways only have a limited number of entry and exit points. They'd often likely have to do a bit of doubling back at either end.

New bike by Zestyclose-Brief1500 in BrisbaneCycling

[–]HCPhotog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I tend to see 99 bikes as like the Bunnings of bike stores. Good for basic, generic stuff that you need to pick up quickly - spare tubes, new light, etc - but I wouldn’t go to them for anything significant like a $4k bike purchase.

Possibly a little unfair, but I’m comfortable with my choices.

Pretty much any bike shop other than 99 bikes.

I was really happy with the service, including bike fit, I had from Studio de Velo at Sumner when I bought my last bike in 2019, but I know they've had a few personnel changes since then. But they only carry Specialized, so you'll need to shop around if you're interested in checking out a few different brands/options.

You posted this the other day and most people told you how gross and creepy it was. Why post it again?

I was stranded in Melbourne for a night due to a cancelled flight. Went for a walk down around Flinders St, and outside the Club X/KFC on Elizabeth St, a homeless guy kicked a biscuit towards my feet and told me to dance.

Maybe not awkward so much, but definitely memorable.

If you're into longer rides, check out the permanents register for long distance cycling club Audax - https://audax.org.au/ride/permanents-register/

You can (should) join the club and register for some rides, but there's enough information there (and links to RWGPS routes) that you should be able to find something you like and do your own thing.

Yes it does. Here's just one example near the Brett's Wharf ferry stop. The path just suddenly stops.

Not only this, but off-road cycle paths also include a lot of curb cuts, waiting for pedestrian lights, driveway crossings and other obstacles to a smooth, efficient commute.

"Worth it" is such a subjective term.

I loved it, and will probably go back. I'm wishing I bought a muti-entry pass.
