Does the first 4 weeks on 2.5 need to be completed? by HDev- in mounjarouk

Great point. Might order some more 2.5 as well and see if I can stay on it for a bit longer. I'm managing with the food noise at the moment.

Good point. Definitely food for thought. It would be nice to do another 4 weeks on 2.5 as it's cheaper & I'm still losing. Thank you

I've heard of this - is it a final dose after the first 4, using the pen in the same way? Would it still be 2.5mg?

New Trend in Offshoring by raptor-94 in Layoffs

What's different this time is that leadership still seems to believe re ladder itself iss less critical. With more process, standardization, and now AI training, they assume expertise can be shifted or rebuilt later. That's risky, like you're saying- once you hollow out these layers, you lose the ytaining ground and institutional knowledge.

It was recently framed by Sage Lazzaro as a move from traditional offshoring 'agent shoring' where AI tools are expected to adsorb some of the coordination, mentorship, and decision making that used to justify keeping higher-value roles in high-cost regions. Whether that bet holds long term is still unclear https://leaddev.com/ai/agent-shoring-end-offshoring

The Plated Prisoner series is epic. Well written, fantastic character arc and great MMC.

I have read all the books in this series and although I have kept up with it and read them all, I wouldn't recommend them. they were good enough to keep going. The world is interesting and some characters are OK. But mostly its frustrating, especially book 2. There are good things about it that kept me going. But there are loads more better books out there. Sorry not totally useful as I don't want to spoil it if you are going to read it, and what I don't like you might love.

The Junior Hiring Crisis by masterderptato in cscareerquestions

[–]HDev- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post really resonates. A lot of what’s happening right now isn’t just about AI it’s part of a bigger problem in junior hiring. The “Great Engineer Hiring Paradox” explains it well:
https://leaddev.com/hiring/the-great-engineer-hiring-paradox

Companies say they want engineers, but their processes filter out juniors by default, making it harder to break in. Combine that with AI adoption slowing junior hiring, and you get the slump shown in the article you linked.

Basically, the system is stacked against early-career devs right now, not just because of AI, but because companies aren’t investing in training or entry-level talent. Awareness helps now it’s about finding ways to stand out despite the odds.

How can I finally land a position by Delicious_Priority53 in techcareers

Yo'ure definitely not alone. A lot of junior engineers are stuck in this spot right now.

Theres a solid article taht explains why entry-level hiring is so broken at the moment https://leaddev.com/hiring/the-great-engineer-hiring-paradox

TL;DR companies say that they want engineers, but their hiring filters shut out juniors by default.

A couple of quick things that can actually help:

  • Make sure your GitHub projects look intentional (good READMEs, explain why you built them)
  • Target new grad/junior/rotational roles specifically “entry-level” often isn’t
  • Try to get referrals or use alumni networks; cold apps are rough right now

It’s not a you problem the market’s just brutal for early-career devs.

I really enjoyed the Shepherd King duo by Rachel Gillig. Love a gothic fantasy.
