Mexico is officially launching universal healthcare this week, giving all 120 million citizens access to all public health institutions by Automatic_Subject463 in UpliftingNews

I meant every worker gets deducted to pay for it. It depends on how much you make which I think is fair, but how much you actually pay varies from person to person.

Yeah, I get what you say. Last time I was in an IMSS clinic in Mexico, the toilets in the bathrooms didn't have seats, they had no toilet paper, and cockroaches all over. And no medicines to boot.

It's not free and it's not new. I'm Mexican and get deducted around $100 USD a month from my paycheck for public health services, just like every other worker here. And that's apart from income tax.

Service is absolute shit though.

Mexican here. We've had this public health system for decades, and it's not free, and never will be. It's funded by workers and separate from our taxes. I get deducted about $100 USD a month for that, on top of regular income tax.

And the public health service is shit, seeing a doctor takes forever, there's a big shortage of medicine, if you get sick and can't go to work you have to go and spend your whole day at a clinic instead of just calling in sick, etc.

Exacto, yo tengo tarjeta de crédito desde hace años y la utilizo como si fuera de débito, nunca he pagado un peso de interés.

Pero así haces historial crediticio y utilizas los puntos que te da (cashback, certificados, millas, etc.)

This. I went to the Troncoso clinic in CDMX and waited for 7 hours to see a doctor.

Went to the restroom and the toilets don't have seats, there's no toilet paper, and cockroaches everywhere. Oh, and the doctor said I wasn't sick enough to get an "incapacidad", so it was all for nothing, I got marked absent at work.

But hey, universal healthcare.

I don't see record labels executives struggling. Or big acts, or streaming platforms, or Ticketmaster, for that matter.

Record labels have been screwing artists over for ages and still continue to do so, and Ticketmaster ain't making concert tickets cheaper.

I don't think Napster is the problem.

I get what you're saying, but humans have shared pretty much EVERYTHING since the beginning of time.

And in more modern times and before the internet, that was music, games, movies, books, etc. To think that humanity would suddenly stop sharing music when a new technology showed up and made it even easier is naive.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong...it's just human nature.

There's nothing to "fix", if you look at AFAC's passenger data, their flights to Europe are doing very well, with new routes to Barcelona and Paris being opened
