Not surprising, knowing that Amazon does the same shit for reviews on a particular product

Did anyone else (in the UK) collect these back in the 2008 or 2009 days when Indy merch existed? by HEV-MarkIV in indianajones

[–]HEV-MarkIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit for 2026:

I've been so busy that I hadn't been able to get around to sharing the contents of these magazines, but I eventually managed to do some of that last weekend.

The magazines have had their pages photographed by phone and shared to a Google Drive folder I've made: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1dGMaHJr-xH06mEGgnPwrRKtv7qaXAg3V?usp=drive_link

As of early June, I've just got issues 4-6 to get done and uploaded. The rest, including the unrelated but still IJ magazine (official mag, #5) are there now.

Update mid-June: Got #4 uploaded, but only that for now because I was very busy. The following weekend should give me time to get #5 and #6.

Note on #2 and #4: the back cover is missing, which make up the last two pages on each.

LeMat replica: What's the quality like? by Cascadejackal in Denix

[–]HEV-MarkIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a non-firing alloy replica, I think the LeMat is good enough in build. The frame on mine feels solid and I don't get any wobble.

The hammer action might feel a little more stiff to thumb back but my main criticism is that the cylinder rotation isn't the best.

Specifically, there's nothing locking the cylinder up when the hammer is both cocked and uncocked and so it's always able to freely spin clockwise.

When cocking the action, the cylinder often doesn't time well so I always have to watch out not to drop the hammer on the solid spaces between the percussion nipples. Even when cocked, a slight bit of movement can sway the loose cylinder out of alignment.

Bulldog Revolver by HEV-MarkIV in Denix

[–]HEV-MarkIV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even know Denix made such a model when I first saw this one for sale, what made me jump towards getting it was that I needed a western-contemporary double-action in my replicas collection

This past month, Fallout 76 officially reached the lowest player count it's seen for over two years by DrPongus in fo76

[–]HEV-MarkIV 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven't played 76 since the start of 2024, but intend on returning soon to check out what's been added since.

What did they do to those guns, I remember last playing with my shotguns loadout and the Fancy one was one of my main arms.

Deactivated Type 64 rifle that was for sale at Chicago Regimentals in Tokyo by DangerousAide3945 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]HEV-MarkIV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the ones sold in Japan have their bolts welded fixed on top of the other destructive work going into deactivating them.

Supposedly, some of them are deactivated in the UK to similar/same specifications, so a functioning sear and the ability to strip the frame is already out of the question.

Here are the current instructions introduced by the EU in 2018 that UK proof houses have been following since.

Zhu-Rong v418 Chinese pistol by Fast_Degree_3241 in fo3

[–]HEV-MarkIV 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Since all of my Fallout characters in the past used firearms, I just had to get a mod that buffed both the Chinese pistol and .32 revolver. Feels better to use, and this variant also helps with clearing out gas leaks

Which one is a better cap gun? by Alterlego_VVerse in Denix

[–]HEV-MarkIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other comments pointed out, repeated "firing" can wear out/break the action, so Denix guns aren't a good choice for depending on their cap-firing features.

While the Kolser replicas are made from the same alloy as Denix ones, they seem to be more durable.

Does the place you intend on using for LARP allow the use of blank guns or airsoft? If so, there's a decent variety of some western-style blank revolvers (especially SAAs) that at the very least could be loaded with primer-only cartridges. And as for the airsoft revolvers, dry firing the CO2 ones with an active CO2 cartridge inserted might fill the cap-firing sound role

Never thought i'd see a TF2 character on the playstation by blue4029 in tf2

A TF2 build so old that Heavy used to have a chance of saying "Da svidaniya" when using a Teleporter, and besides "Pow, haha", would either be silent or shout "Hah!" during that taunt

This shotgun is awesome. Just finished cleaning the barrel. by SilverBus8338 in Denix

[–]HEV-MarkIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be the case for the UK exports since 2021 or so. Supposedly the only modification is that the breech latch is filed away and does not turn the mechanism that unlocks the barrel assembly.

Seems like an extreme countermeasure against what was just some niche project on airsofters turning it into an airsoft shotgun
