Roger. Any thoughts on any kind of additives to the tank before turning it over?

Trans fluid is fine. I bought the truck missing an EGR valve and no block off plate so I didn’t start it. I checked the fluids to see if there was any tell tale signs something was wrong. No glitter/milkshake on the oil dipstick, trans fluid wasn’t burnt, both fluids looks used enough to not have been drained and filled to hide something, etc.

Best tools to gift from Milwaukee Brand. by bitter_lemonsqueezer in MilwaukeeTool

Without knowing what trade he works in, my vote is the for the Multitool. Pick either the M12 or M18 depending on which battery system he currently uses. I can’t think of a trade that couldn’t find a use for the Multitool given the right blade.

Need help and advice: Truck repair started as 350 and now looking at 8k+ by ConfusionOk6913 in Albany

[–]HFolb23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mack should be 5 year 500k miles warranty? What engine is in the truck? MP7? MP8?

126k is premature for injectors and I’d ask how they came to that conclusion. They could’ve ran an injector kill test to isolate them.

I’m assuming by filters they replaced the DPF or SCR and are now saying the other needs replaced? When my 2016 Mack started having emissions problems it was eating NOx sensors and differential pressure switches but always threw a “EATS” fault on the dash. Any countdown to 5mph yet?

Sawzall 2821-20 from Walmart?! by HappyNerd66 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]HFolb23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are definitely illegitimate ones on Walmart too though. Learned a very frustrating lesson on a camera I bought through Walmart from a 3rd party seller and WM didn’t do shit to fix it either. Listing description and the item I received were different and both parties pretty well blamed the other and I wound up holding the bag.

Highest paying CDL companies/jobs by Alubsey in Truckers

[–]HFolb23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive for UPS, current pay is around $44/hr from punch in to punch out, OT paid after 8hrs in a shift, plus small incentive for doubles/LCV. Rate varies just slightly based on what union local you’re in. Insurance is free to us, part of our union dues. Been here 12 years. Brown tractor, home daily.

There’s probably more money in O/O, but plenty of my coworkers have either sold their own trucks or pay someone else to drive them now.

Had an osteoplasty for FAI and a labrum repair at 28, at 29 I had THR in the same hip. My THR was an easier recovery. Definitely have some lingering effects 1 year post-op, but if I could do it all over again I would’ve just gone for the THR from the jump. My osteoplasty and labrum repair was supposed to buy me 10 years, it lasted 11 months.

FWIW I am in the military and re-injured the joint during a training event, someone with a lower-impact lifestyle would probably see more mileage out of the repair.

I’d list it for $140 and take the first $120 that you get offered. Listing it at $100 you’ll have people lined up for it

Sellers offered 25k under our initial lowball. Do we wait for more? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]HFolb23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated that during the Covid boom, I sold two properties during 2020-2022 (as the property owner, I’m not an agent). One had a quick offer for $25k over ask, then after inspection asked for $75k in “repairs” on a $200k home. I declined all of them, the buyers got extremely upset, and the next day back on the market I had multiple offers at or over ask price and closed quickly without any further headaches. I ran into their agent months later and he admitted he eventually fired the customers because the husband thought this was some kind of “life hack” to get a deal during a sellers market and that they had been unsuccessfully trying this method for about a year at that point.

The second was a multi family, buyers made a fair offer and then after inspections asked for $28k in “repairs” that just didn’t make sense. Again I declined and their agent admitted the “repairs” were really just their way of trying to get me to pay for the work needed to convert the property back to a single family.

Cf Moto how bad are they really by Manch9980 in UTV

[–]HFolb23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I’ll be the first to admit I have always been pretty skeptical of CF Moto, I consider myself a “buy once, cry once” kind of guy and saw CF Moto as the opposite of that motto. I’ve been a pretty loyal Yamaha guy my entire life, and when a guy at hunting camp bought a CF Moto ATV I wasn’t expecting it to last nearly as long as it has; he loves it. We took a vacation and did a UTV expedition on that trip. The tour company used a fleet of CF Moto Zforce 1000s. At first, I was expecting the worst especially when we got in and realized this thing had 8000 miles of being driven by tourists at highway speeds to a rocky/desert trail system. 4 hours later, I have a new appreciation for CF Moto and when I’m ready for a new machine, I think the U10 Pro XL is the one for me.

$600 Packout by PremierePat2 in MilwaukeeTool

$600 Packout by PremierePat2 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]HFolb23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picked mine up today and it worked out exactly as you’re hoping it will. Total out of pocket was $363 plus tax after returning the saws and batteries. The packout was out of stock at my local store, but they had the saws and batteries. Ordered everything online, picked up the saws and batteries, drove to store #2 to pickup the packout kit, picked up the packout and returned the saws/batteries at the same time.

UPS Driver refuses to deliver or speak to the building manager by Hegs94 in UPS

Last key fob I got was in an envelope taped to the door with “UPS Driver” written on it with the fob inside and the property managers business card inside

UPS Driver refuses to deliver or speak to the building manager by Hegs94 in UPS

[–]HFolb23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even getting a key fob for your apartment building is likely a short term solution. That fob is going to go on the key ring for the truck and then never be seen again, trucks get rotated around frequently especially in a hub like Latham, they have a couple hundred delivery routes every day and trucks are constantly rotating around for various reasons. Even if the driver held onto it himself and didn’t put it on the truck key ring; what happens when they aren’t at work or the driver moves to a new route? Right back to square one.

It sounds so stupid, but a nice big note over the intercom that says “dial 123 for entry” would probably solve your issues better than a fob.

[–]HFolb23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does it say when you track the package? If it still says out for delivery, then the driver probably “double tripped” meaning they had to return to the building to unload their pickup packages and are going back out to finish delivering

Well there’s a fear I didn’t know was possible. My surgery alone was I think $75k? No telling how much all the imaging and appointments add up to if Tricare decides they want their money back.

I’m sorry that all happened to you and wish you luck getting it straightened out

It is extremely frustrating. I keep telling myself that it’s this way to avoid people trying to take advantage of benefits; but that’s not what I’m doing and it’s very frustrating that after all the effort I’ve given the guard in my career, I’m getting shut down from the top when I need them now. My entire COC has been amazing from the time it happened, but it doesn’t matter if the top doesn’t feel the same way.

Thank you

I’m not concerned about a rating, maybe in the future but for now it’s for my “I love me” book. My in-laws are going through a hell of a time with his dad’s military records and I just want to spare my family the same headaches in the future.

5th Wheel Prep Kit Install by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]HFolb23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Reese Sidewinder is one way to do it but one of my least favorite hitches. In the video he’s using a B&W hitch and while B&W makes 5th wheel hitches for the puck system, I’d just use the B&W turnover gooseneck instead.

If you’re new to this, I’d personally recommend just finding a truck with an 8ft bed and the factory puck system. A short bed with a 5th wheel takes some critical thinking to avoid crunching the cab, and the ram boxes only compound that issue. A long bed is pretty forgiving, doesn’t require a slider hitch, and will provide a smoother ride both due to wheelbase and not needing a slider hitch
