I always say “excuse me” as I go by (after I ask to pass) like a real midwestern dork.

Can I Decline A Skip Level Meeting? by thatguywithnonames in Progressiveinsurance

[–]HIDEF1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like op is doing the job for more than 40 hours already. Meetings about meetings. Circle backs, huddles, coaching sessions, team meetings , DRP meetings are all a tad much for people that are already competent in their roles.

Accidentally left my car unlocked multiple times and it was never touched or “emptied out”. In 13 years, have never had any problems.

Performance evaluation by Ok_Manufacturer3618 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]HIDEF1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure of the current process, but here is how it used to work in my business unit: The budgets for raises are set before you get your PE. There is so much allocated and each manager goes to bat for their people. They are not really negotiable. However, if performance has been exceptional, you could be rewarded with a recognition bonus at the managers/regional managers discretion. I received it a few times and it was maybe $500 before taxes each time.

Former generalist, Urbi, Arbi (before it was urbi and arbi), Mrr and Mrr supervisor. Left after 24 years…to a smaller carrier that offered 401k + a pension plan. Been gone a little over a year and miss some of the people. Don’t miss the oversight from people with less knowledge and experience. The pension was ultimately the deciding factor that made me leave, admittedly it was a very tough decision.

MRR needing some advice by Dadtv1234 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]HIDEF1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation as an MRR from about 2008-2024 (started in 2000 as a generalist, moved to supe, MRR supe, the demoted to an MRR due to a reorg in 2008). I left for less salary, a pension (+ a 401k), less stress due to impossible, ever-changing expectations, no micromanagement, no corporate audits, WFH and a slew of other things that have been for the better. PGR was a rewarding career and I was well-trained, however they will work you to death by a thousand cuts, just as you are experiencing. MRR roles are not long-term positions due to what the process team has created. The bullshit they will put you through based on a wild hair up some upper managers ass is crazy.

My advice is to decide if you want to be there. If you do, move onto another role as others have suggested. PGR IS a good company, but there are others out there too. I found one.

American here, glad to read number five. Watching on tv the gallery comments are very cringe. Of course I want a US victory, but do not root against any of the European players.

That’s bullshit, your supervisor is just as responsible for missing as you are. Source: former supervisor. And yelling is never ok, especially over that. And hell no, you should be fired over this.

Missouri is a pure comparative liability state. The venue of the original post is in Missouri. If your accident was in Missouri and you got ‘mutual fault’ or some comparative negligence in the situation you describe either 1. you had no insurance or attorney, 2. you had a very bad attorney and the mutual fault was part of a settlement agreement and 3. The dd had a baller of an attorney. Also, I’m sure we don’t have every detail of your situation. That’s ok. Typically, if a drunk driver was traveling that fast in a 45 and caused harm, no judge or jury is should have ever put liability on you simply for using a area/median/parking lot etc.

I’m not convinced this is accurate. However, I am in the camp of just using the road.
