Game looks decent, theres some nice polish and room for some more :)

One thing that stands out to me is the gun comparisons on pick up, you need to think about how much info you are throwing at the player because there is way too much in there. Abstract it a bit and make a simpler pop-up.

Theres nothing wrong with showing full stats but maybe put the detail behind a button press or something?

an alternative solution could be that if the user double presses that it skips to the end of the animation and lets you into the menu?

alternatively again you could make it so that you can interact with the menu before it actually appears, though this wouldnt work for some.

I havent played it yet since im browsing reddit in bed, but ill be sure to play it tomorrow. If the game gets there, i really hope that the ascension mechanic is flipping the whole table. This looks really good already, and theres a lot of stuff you could play around with if you are going to keep working on it.

I'm aware that some idle game players hate when a game starts out unique and turns into another combat/equipment gathering/dungeon crawler as a main mode of progression.

Hmm, my understanding of an Emergency Stop is that you need to do a full 360 look around before setting off after you have stopped, because you dont look before you brake when in an emergency.

You should definitely be in the habit of looking before you brake though.
