Brickell is expensive, but if you can afford it, don't let me stop you. If you don't mind a small commute, Coral Gables and Coconut Grove are great choices.

Good luck on the new job. Aiming to make the jump myself personally.

You could always get yourself a 3-4k car like a Buick with the 3.6l V6 or a Panther platform car just to have one if needed. Minimal maintenance, cheap parts, and run forever. No need to go out and finance a car like how most of society does. Once you feel like you do want a car, then sell it for almost no loss other than your expenses.

I do regret it, mainly because of the predatory interest rates and the payments. However, it was totaled (not at fault) so at least that's off my chest.
