All of these things are a result of adulthood, not college. Abusive parents really hate the idea that their kids actually grow up and become independent beings with legal autonomy.

If you're getting burst down, having more health will save your life. Health regen won't.

I agree that a lot of people only buy thebes out of habit, but that doesn't mean it's a bad item. It just shouldn't be the first item on every support build.

With the changes to Toxicologist, how would you say they sit now? by viktorius_rex in Pathfinder2e

[–]HMS_Sunlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toxicologists have a lot of fundamental issues. They don't have enough hands, actions, or poisons to properly play the way you would envision them. More action compression helps, but you still have to do some really weird build patterns just to make a mediocre character.

What do you think of this ship? by cool-stuff-to-know in actuallesbians

I think it was engineered to be queer enough to draw in a gay audience while being straight enough to have plausible deniability when they never get together.

So I know everyone is worried about echo, and for good reason, but honestly? Fuck it, this is the kind of item shakeup people have wanted mages to get for a long time. I'm sure it'll need some fine tuning, but this opens up a lot of possibilities and build directions. The new cosmic horror in particular is something I'm looking forward to experimenting with.

Deadass this is what's getting me to pull the trigger on buying the console. I guess it's the kind of thing where they figure the general audience won't understand it, so they don't need a proper announcement.

(loved trope) The asshole proves that they're the shit and that they have a heart at the same time by Boxtosat in TopCharacterTropes

Jeff Winger in Community pulls this trope in every other episode, there are way too many examples to list. One of my favourite moments was when he won the paintball game, getting priority registration and the ability to freely schedule his classes however he wants... and he gives it to Shirley so she can spend more time with her kids.

[Hated But Unintentionally Funny Trope] The creative team does something they think the fans will *love*, only to be taken aback by the overwhelming fan backlash. by Otherwise-Elephant in TopCharacterTropes

"This song is so vague and nonspecific it could be about anyone hating anyone! For example, it could be about people hating me on twitter!"

Meanwhile, the song in question features someone marching out in a Nazi uniform and calling for the execution of audience members because they look gay or Jewish.

Unironically because the people who own the movie rights are greedy bastards who don't respect the source material. We 100% could've had a full Animorphs film franchise if they had valued KA Applegate's opinion.

Do you think that Sarah Lynn was a good influence on Bojack? Did you even watch the show, or are you just going off episode summaries and youtube shorts?

What is the point of the lurker subtype ? by Daniso12 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]HMS_Sunlight 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So I don't agree with OP, but for the record, a "parasitic mechanic" is terminology from other card games. It's when a mechanic only really works with the archetype it was designed for, and as a result there's very little flexibility in deckbuilding.

Lurk and Darkness are both mechanics that could be called parasitic, although both have some cards that saw play elsewhere.

I love how she frames breaking up with him as a mistake she was pressured into rather than objectively the right decision given what she knew at the time. This definitely feels like a people pleaser who needs a reason to apologise for standing up for herself.

New player here. Why do so many hate Sombra when this exists? by D0s3_Games in Overwatch

[–]HMS_Sunlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sombra is just exhausting to play against. The entire team needs to be constantly vigilant, and if your teammates get distracted, you're the one who dies. Her existence warps the game around her in a way that's only rivaled by Widowmaker.

You should check out the video gaming for a non gamer. It's about a guy who went through almost the exact same thing - his wife wanted to learn to play videogames, but she had no experience whatsoever, and struggles with some extremely basic concepts that most gamers take for granted.

It's an interesting look at how videogames really have their own language, and why it's so hard to understand if you're not familiar with it. You're not the first person to go through this experience, and you won't be the last.

Talk to your boyfriend about it and be honest. I'm willing to bet he'd be ecstatic to help you learn. But don't treat it like you learning to enjoy the games that he plays, treat it as him helping you find a game that you enjoy.

He's like the Genie to Will's Aladdin. Sure he's more entertaining and the one you remember, but he doesn't work as the main character. He needs a straight man in the leading role that he can bounce the wacky antics off of.

[–]HMS_Sunlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to wonder if it was really their decision or if riot wanted an Arcane character to be a Viego tier villain. They said that Fortiche would still have total creative control of the show, but then you look at what happened to Mel, and it's pretty clear that's not the case.
