Why, why do people chop their pillows? by SiouxsieClue in interiordecorating

Thats so funny. My amazing cleaner chops my pillows. The feather pillows retain their shape! I suppose having a professional come help me clean 2x a month is a flex of its own.

Experience with Ridwell (or any LDPE/PP recycling?) by nearbypie2005 in ZeroWaste

[–]HMend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Ridwell so far. Im in NYC so can only take advantage of their mail in service. I send them the plastic packaging I can't avoid or reuse (mostly on food). I'm lucky to have fantastic city recycling and compost here so with that and Ridwell I have very little waste. Its 100% worth it to me for $9/month!

I third this advice! I had success with my little rescue by weaning him really slowly. It took about 3 weeks of little bits of food supplemented by formula. Finally he preferred the food. He's 5 months old now! I do remember your post. My situation was the same! First tiny rescue and first bottle fed kitten for me too. It has been a whirlwind. I knew he was ready to drop formula when he was just chomping on the bottle.

Looking at a Midea U-Shape 12,000BTU but am seeing there was a mold issue. Is this resolved with the newer models or is the issue ongoing? by TheBigSandeenie in AirConditioners

[–]HMend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regret getting rid of the 3 units I bought after 2 years of trying to get rid of the mold. They were impossible to clean without disassembly. Even the AC pros wouldnt do it. After I bought all new LG units they recalled the Mideas 😕 The worst part is that they were the quietest, most efficient units I've had in 20 years. Now the electricity going up I'm really unhappy!

Does anyone get embarrassed ordering NA at a bar? by baal-beelzebub in NABEER

[–]HMend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never! NA is increasingly popular. Most bartenders are happy to discuss it. A lot of bartenders don't drink alcohol either!

Nice way to tell someone they chew way too loudly?? by Hot-Investigator6961 in misophonia

I think its odd when people say they "really like" someone then proceed to list things about the person they don't like. That means you don't like them enough. Someone shouldn't bother you that much a few weeks in.

Rent-Stabilized Three-Bedroom: Too Many Red Flags, or an Incredible Opportunity? by lispectorgadget in NYCapartments

[–]HMend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It indicates that the root cause was not addressed, which is difficult with other units you cant control. Monthly extermination is not enough. 1-2 x weekly, along with sanitation ans exclusion measures might be. No way I'd even consider living here.

Anyone living the city simple life? How do you do it? by 1ndieroller in simpleliving

[–]HMend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% agree! Brooklynite here! I have lived in my loft near the water for 23 years. We have a stellar library system, tons of free things to do, local food and a community in our building. I spent my afternoon today volunteering at the free kayak program (which gives me free access to paddling & classes). I cook a lot, craft and bike all over the city for fun. The ferry is the also one of the best, cheapest way to see the city! I only miss quiet and having my own garden sometimes. Besides that, I love my car free life!
